Can you believe I've been with this site for over five years? My interest isn't as high as it was when I first joined, but I'm still hanging on.
Fanfiction is very much a guilty pleasure for me. I'm reluctant to talk to my family and friends about it. When I first discovered fanfiction I tried to get my younger sister into it, but she was nonplussed. Worse, my mom used to tell me to stop wasting time writing stories no one would ever read. So why write fanfics? I've always loved to imagine my favorite characters in funny new situations. It's as entertaining as watching a movie, but it requires some brainpower and creative energy. If it weren't for fanfiction, I might have missed my calling as an author. Although I'm now focusing on writing as a profession, I still have time for a few more fanfics.
Favorite Books: Mostly British fantasy, including Watership Down, the Harry Potter series (especially book 4), the Chronicles of Narnia, Alice in Wonderland, the Redwall series...Oh yeah, and LOTR.
Favorite Bands: Coldplay, the Killers, Modest Mouse, U2, the Cure, Pearl Jam, Reliant K, Hawk Nelson, Boston, Queen, the Beatles. Lately I've been getting more into 80s music.
Favorite Movies: Mostly family films like the Empire Strikes Back, Anne of Green Gables, Wizard of Oz, Mary Poppins, Finding Nemo, and The Lion King (duh!).
