Hey :) I'm Leah from Australia, an Aussie/kiwi scorpio who loves reading and writing. There's a lot on here, you're probably thinking I'm a self absorbed git fart ... Hmmm. Well, actually, I've just got a lot to tell ya!

I must confess that I am not the greatest writer in the world but I do try to make my stories as easy to read as possible and, of course, enjoyable. I also used to believe in Mary Sues and think I had to write to suit the standards of other readers. Now I know that is a load of bollocks and from now on I will write to please me and my orginal characters will turn out the way I believe they should turn out. If people do not like it ... So tempted to type that they can sod off, but that would be too mean. I'll type this instead.

If you do not like the way I write. To each their own.

And

If you do not like what I write, to each their own, as well.

I'll also happily admit I used to think reviews were really important. The stuff of life! Now I know they're not. It's sharing stories with others that counts. Who cares if your story gets 0 reviews? Just post & share! I also don't really care about bad ones. Life is too short and there are too many important things to worry about.

Anyway.

About my writing habits

I'm fairly meticulous when it comes to writing. I focus on keeping the characters in character unless I write a humour fic or a really au one. I admit that I am so careful about the way I write it takes a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time for me to update. I'm also prone to taking down my work and revising it.

I only write in UK or Australian english. I can't train myself to write in American english. I'm not being racist by the way, I simply cannot make myself do it.

Two of my dearest friends BETA for me and I would be no where without them.

I love to use Italics and Bold in my stories. This annoys some readers. But like I've stated before, If you don't like it, read a story that doesn't have bold and italics. I also tend to plot jump. I do that because it makes writing and revising my fic just that wee bit easier.

When I write a story set in a medieval or period before say ... the 20th century, I avoid anything modern unless it fits the character or if it's a humour fic or if it's a very AU story.

My stories evolve around women rather then men. I find writing from the perspective of a woman more fulfilling. I also sympathise and empathise more towards women then men, not that I hate them, well there are a few I've been unable to stomach, I just find women more interesting.

Things I've learnt on FF.net and other fic writing sites

The hardest thing about writing I find is that people want you to write to their standards, not your own. Don't write to please them. Sure, edit it, make it easy to read. Get a nice even flow. But write to please yourself and forget about the idiots who flame you because they are to childish to hit the "back" button when it dawns on them that they don't like the story. Also, if someone offers you some advice, take it into consideration. It may really help your story flourish. If it doesn't work with your idea. Turn it down graciously. That part, sadly, I still have a wee bit of trouble with hahaha!

What ticks me off in fan fiction

I’d like to point out that if you are from the UK or USA and notice that my spelling and grammar are different, that is because I am Australian and I write using Australian English, not UK English, not US English but Australian English. It can be a tad annoying when someone tells you that your work is riddled with mistakes when it is not as riddled as they claim it to be.

People who complain about your story in an anon-still can't spell it, lol!-and don't bother to leave a contact email. Doing that just plain cowardly.

I hate the terms "Is all" and "And all" and finally "Feelings for" They are so ... Disgusting!-ok, disgusting is a bit strong, so they just make me really cranky because they are inaccurate.

Oh, and "Yous and Cold/warm out" as well.

And finally ...

Ways/Anyways should be "Way" or "Anyway" Also, what the hell is "Where's he at?"

Phew, more peeves!

Bad spelling! Eeek!

Anti gay readers. Ok, it is your right to not like slash, but do you need to be so mean?

Rushed stories! ARRGH!! I hate them! They're too hard to enjoy. Please slow down! Add description, develop your characters! Etc, etc.

Modernisims in non modern fic!

I'm also sick and tired of shipper wars. What ever happened to choice, ppl?

Female character bashing. We are entitled to have an opinion, but why do we have to be so aggressive? I don't call Marian a b%^h because she choose Robin over Gisborne. I don't boo Isabella or Kate because they wanted Guy to cark it, there are more important things to be upset about.

People whinging to me about how depressing my stories are-I love depressing stories and the more you ask me to write happy endings or chapters, the sadder they will become.

"Please up date soon!" Nope. Shan't. The chappies are up when they are actually ready, not before.

This whole "Mary/Gary Sue" thing. Quite frankly I couldn't care less about it and refuse to believe in them, but others do so to each their own. If you do not know what a Mary, Gary Sue is. It is, to put it quite plainly, an orginal character who is too good to be true.

Ok, sounded a wee bit cranky there. I'm only human, lol!

Pairings/threesomes I write about or like like to read about
