Author has written 21 stories for Home & Away, Robin Hood BBC, British Comedy, Little Mermaid, and Twilight. Hey :) I'm Leah from Australia, an Aussie/kiwi scorpio who loves reading and writing. There's a lot on here, you're probably thinking I'm a self absorbed git fart ... Hmmm. Well, actually, I've just got a lot to tell ya! I must confess that I am not the greatest writer in the world but I do try to make my stories as easy to read as possible and, of course, enjoyable. I also used to believe in Mary Sues and think I had to write to suit the standards of other readers. Now I know that is a load of bollucks and from now on I will write to please me and my orginal characters will turn out the way I believe they should turn out. If people do not like it ... So tempted to type that they can sod off, but that would be too mean. I'll type this instead. If you do not like the way I write. To each their own. I'll also happily admit I used to think reviews were really important. The stuff of life! Now I know they're not. It's sharing stories with others that counts. Who cares if your story gets 0 reviews? Just post & share! Anyway. Favourite Foods Steak, sheep tongue/brain/Kangaroo/Emu/Oysters/Lobster/Duck/Rice/Snails/frogs legs/Grapes/Tart green apples/Chicken/pasta/French pastries/American Cheese cake favourite Actors Justine Waddell, Matthew Newton Nicholas Bishop, Lucy Griffiths, Lara Pulver and Richard Armitage. There are more, most of them are Australian or british Favourite bands/singers Lily Allen, The Feeling, Keane, Queen, Metallica, John Farnham, David Hobson, David Campbell, Vitamin C, The Corrs and Eve's Plum. I also love film soundtracks and have a huge, huge collection! TV shows Torchwood, Grey's Anatomy, Robin Hood BBC, Home and Away, It takes two, Britains Best Dish, Poldark, Angel, Underbelly Judge John Deed, Dancing with the stars, Strictly Come Dancing, MASH, the inspector Lynly mysteries, Charmed, 2 and a half men ... There are more, they're mostly british or aussie. Films Munich, the fountain, bram stoker's dracula, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, Casino Royale, StarWars 1 & 6, The Fall, Dracula 2000, Love Actually, Harry potter and the goblet of fire, Harry potter and the half blood prince, lotr 1, 2, 3, the little mermaid, walking on water, Australia, and the silver brumby Books The soul slayer by Paul Doherty Tess of the Durbervilles by Thomas Hardy The lords of the north by Bernard Cornwell The poldark saga by Winston Graeme Pride and Predjudice by Jane Austen The Silver brumby by Elyne Mitchell The black stallion by Walter Farley Foot rot flats comic books by Murray Ball The champion by Elizabeth Chadwicke The last vampire and the immortal by Christopher Pike Flowers in the attic by Virgina Andrews, funny I don't feel comfy about reading about incest, but I adore her work! Anything by CS Lewis! I loved him as a little girl! Harry Potter 1, 3 , 4, 5, 6 & 7 by J K rowling Authors who influence me. Elyne Mitchell Winston Graeme Thomas Hardy Bernard Cornwell Michael Crighton CS Lewis JRR Tolkien JK Rowling Walter Farley Christopher Pike Elizabeth Chadwicke Paul Doherty About my writing habits I'm fairly meticulous when it comes to writing. I focus on keeping the characters in character unless I write a humour fic or a really au one. I admit that I am so careful about the way I write it takes a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time for me to update. I'm also prone to taking down my work and revising it. Two of my dearest friends BETA for me and I would be no where without them. I love to use Italics and Bold in my stories. This annoys some readers. But like I've stated before, If you don't like it, read a story that doesn't have bold and italics. I also tend to plot jump. I do that because it makes writing and revising my fic just that wee bit easier. When I write a story set in a medieval or period before say ... the 20th century, I avoid anything modern unless it fits the character or if it's a humour fic or if it's a very AU story. Things I've learnt on FF.net and other fic writing sites The hardest thing about writing I find is that people want you to write to their standards, not your own. Don't write to please them. Sure, edit it, make it easy to read. Get a nice even flow. But write to please yourself and forget about the idiots who flame you because they are to childish to hit the "back" button. Also, if someone offers you some advice, take it into consideration. It may really help your story flourish. If it doesn't work with your idea. Turn it down graciously. That part, sadly, I still have a wee bit of trouble with hahaha! What ticks me off in fan fiction I’d like to point out that if you are from the UK or USA and notice that my spelling and grammar are different, that is because I am Australian and I write using Australian English, not UK English, not US English but Australian English. It can be a tad annoying when someone tells you that your work is riddled with mistakes when it is not as riddled as they claim it to be. People who complain about your story in an anon-still can't spell it, lol!-and don't bother to leave a contact email. Doing that just plain cowardly. I hate the terms "Is all" and "And all" They are so ... Disgusting! Oh, and "Yous" And what the hell is "Cold/warm out" ? Please explain! Ways/Anyways should be "Way" or "Anyway" Also, what the hell is "Where's he at?" Bad spelling! Eeek! There is no reason why you can't use a spell checker or a dictionary to fix your mistakes. Rushed stories! ARRGH!! I hate them! They're too hard to enjoy. Please slow down! Add description, develop your characters! Etc, etc. Modernisims in non modern fic! I'm also sick of shipper wars. What ever happened to choice, ppl? This whole "Mary/Gary Sue" thing. Quite frankly I couldn't care less about it and refuse to believe in them, but others do so to each their own. If you do not know what a Mary, Gary Sue is. It is, to put it quite plainly, an orginal character who is too good to be true. Pairings I write about or like like to read about Robin Hoof BBC Guy & Marian Guy & Prince John Guy & Tuck Guy & Meg Guy & Allan Allan & Marian Allan & Kate Allan & Djaq Isabella & Prince John Isabella & Meg Djaq & Guy Djaq & Marian Home and Away Peter & Leah Zoe & Tracy Charmed Any of the sisters and Cole Turner The lord of the rings Aragorn & Frodo Aragorn & Eowyn Legolas & Arwen Gandalf & Frodo-non slash Arwen & Frodo-non sexual Angel Angel & Cordy Wes & Fred Torchwood Mary & Tosh Jack & Gwen-I loathe Rhys with a passion. I do like Ianto, but I like Jack with Gwen better. That's because I don't like Robin Hood, I liked him in other productions, but Guy makes him look like a little puppy in this. Watch Jonas in Ghost Squad, he;s great in that, but as Robin Hood he's not good at all. http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/a-sweet-escape-lady-marian http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/a-clue-no http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/sir-guy-of-gisborne http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/dear-lady-i-will-keep-giving- Justine Waddell http:groups.yahoo.com/group/justine-waddell/ PS if you want to say something negative about my work, please show some balls by leaving a contact address or I will ignore you.
