School's Out For Summer Anonymous One-Shot Contest

What is it we're looking for, you ask?

School’s finished, the sun’s out, it’s three months before you have to go back. What are you going to do? Take a road trip of course.

We want your best Summer Vacation Road trip stories. Whether it’s an end of high school road trip before going off to college, or it’s your last summer before you have to join the real world and get a job, it doesn’t matter.

Now accepting any summer holiday stories regardless of wether they take a road trip.

Timing:

June 1st - July10th - Entries will be accepted

June11th - July 26th– Public Voting (there will be a FFn poll link located at the top of the School's Out for Summer FanFiction profile)

July 29th 2011– Winners Announced on the School's Out For Summer FanFiction Profile andwww.twigirlsnextdoor.com, and TwiFic News websites on Friday July 29th, 2011, along with being announced LIVE on @twigirlsnxtdoor Twitter feed.

Submitting Your Story:

All entries must be submitted via email to schoolsout4summer@twigirlsnextdoor.com by July 10th. Although this contest is anonymous, all entries must be submitted with the following heading, which will be removed by the admin prior to posting:

Judges, Winners, & Prizes:

Entries will be accepted from June 1st to July 10th11:59 PST

ALL STORIES WILL BE POSTED to the Schools Out For Summer FF profile no later than July 11th

July 11th to July 26th – Public Voting (Regardless of how many stories are submitted & accepted, we will only have one round of public voting.)

July 29th – Winners Announced at the Schools Out For Summer andwww.twigirlsnextdoor.com, and TwiFic News websites, along with being announced LIVE on TwiFic News Blog Radio and a LIVE Twitter feed.

There will be 3 winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place) decided by a public vote. Along with Judge's Choice winners.
The first place public vote winner and the Judge's Choice Winner(s) will receive a banner for any story designed and agreed upon by HeatherDawn.

Winner(s) will also receive an Article in our weekly news featuring either them as an author in the fandom or one of their stories.

So, what are the rules?

-Contest is open to all pairings. Including Slash.

-No rape, incest, pedophilia or excessive drug use will be allowed.

-Entries can be all human or include vampires.

-Any rating will be accepted.

-Entries can be collaborations or a solo entry.

-All entries must be between 2,000 and 10,000 words, maximum of two entries per person/collab team.

-Entries must be a one-shot and a stand alone original story. It cannot already have been published somewhere else.

-Entries cannot be continued until AFTER the contest is over.

-Because the contest is anonymous, please no Author’s Note’s. I’m sure your Beta(s) will understand and you can add them after the contest is over when you post the story to your own account.
-Once you have submitted your story for validation, no changes can be made.

-Entrants may promote the contest itself, but not their own story. Stories may not be posted anywhere but the School's Out For Summer Contest profile FF.net page until the winners have been announced. Entrants deviating from this rule, including posting teasers, will be disqualified and their story removed from the contest. We’re operating on the honor system, so let's be fair and follow the rules.

-Please have your story beta’d. Stories will be validated for spelling and grammar, and if the story does not pass validation, it will be returned to you. You will, however, be welcome to resubmit it with corrections to spelling or grammar. If you wish to obtain a beta and do not already have one, contact us and we can help arrange a beta for you.

Please Note: We reserve the right to make minor adjustments to dates and/or rules should that become necessary.

Although you cannot share your entry, you can let people know you have submitted a story for the contest. If you would like to promote the contest, feel free to use the banners which can be found here
