Author has written 3 stories for Lord of the Rings, and Troy. I thought that, as I haven't done anything to my profile page in about 4 years, I'd better give it a bit of a rewrite. So this is me, rewriting it. My real name's Lisa but I chose the username Mixed-Signals cos I'm oh-so great at putting them out. Ask any of my male friends and they'll whole heartedly support the statement. I'm 21 (22 in Dec) but have never had a steady job, haven't got any real qualifications apart from mechanics (but try getting a job in a garage when you're female) and am generally a bit of a waste of space. But I'm just about to start a course in computer programming and another in Short Story Writing so that should pad out the resumé just a little. The 'Professional Dog Walker' I am now isn't something I want to be forever. My main passion is books. I love them. It's the smell, I think. And I'll always buy second hand rather than new. They always feel better then they've been read two or three times already. And I get really attached to them. If I get a book from the library, read it, love it, I then have to go out and buy a copy rather than just put it back and forget about it. It's like I get to know the people in them and don't want to lose contact or something. Very weird. My mother think there's some medical term for people who get overly attached to fictional characters. I looked at her and said, "Yeah, the medical term is: Crazy!" Although I mainly lean toward paranormal chick lit (horror/fantasy romance) I'm really trying to branch out. So I'm taking a stab at murder mysteries, contemporary drama and Terry Pratchet, who is a genre unto himself.Lol. I bought a few Jane Austen classics ages ago but haven't even picked them up yet. I think I just liked having them on the shelf. Made me look all educated and cultured, you know? Anyone with any ideas for books I should read, drop me a line and I'll get straight on it. My other passion is movie soundtracks. I've got about two dozen. I love Hans Zimmer's stuff. His work on Pirates and King Arthur are incredible. Batman and Gladiator were spectacular. Then there was Lord of the Rings, Titanic and Serenity, done by totally different dudes but equally great. I'm kinda eclectic though cos along with the classical stuff I listen to loads of Rock. Nickelback, Breaking Benjamin, Metallica, NIN, Hoobastank, Alter Bridge, Evanescence and tons more. I'll occasionally branch out into pop, RnB etc but mainly not. From the stories I've posted you'll probably guess I'm really into Orlando Bloom's characters, although I have to admit enthusiasm has started to wear off a little. Recently Legolas has become more appealing than he has been in a while but I really should crack of with my Troy fic. I lost my copy of the transcript so I don't know where to go from where I've left it. I'll find it eventually and get back to work but for now I'm planning something original. I've got the heroine all planned out, I just need to figure out what to do with her. Harder than it sounds considering I'd originally planned to use her in a fanfic. Yank the crutch of someone else's work away and I'm left with not much. But persistence usually pays, as does staring at a blank sheet of paper for hours and hours. And talking to myself. The number of times I've been stuck, started talking myself through the plot and realised I was saying something that made wonderfully perfect sense. I live for moments like that. Ok, just realised how long I've been rambling for. I really should stop. I mean, how much more can you need to know about me? Really? | |||||||||
