Author has written 11 stories for Labyrinth, Peter Pan, Jem, and Vampire Diaries. My day job is writing stories of science (and occasionally science fiction), under the heading of "Cognitive Science Research", so fanfiction writing provides a welcome willful delving into the lands of fantasy. My fanfiction interests focus primarily on strong male players that walk the line between villain and anti-hero - the Goblin King from Labyrinth, Captain Hook from Peter Pan, Severus Snape & Lucius Malfoy from Harry Potter, Riot from Jem and the Holograms, and more recently Damon Salvatore from Vampire Diaries. It is a trend - perhaps not a particularly unusual trend, but a trend nonetheless. I recognize the trend. I admit to the trend. I read gleefully and occasionally write fanfiction within the trend.
