Author has written 15 stories for Ranger's Apprentice, Alexandre Dumas, Sharpe Series, Horatio Hornblower, and Eagle, 2011. Woo hoo, spring cleaning here! I got terribly sick of all the memes. I was meme obsessed for a while so I got rid of them and cleaned this place up a bit. Decided it was time I tried an Eagle pic for my profile. Because, seriously, let's face it, Jamie Bell is pretty hot ;) Maybe this will encourage me to write some more Eagle fics. Name: Lady Wallace Interests: I love writing, reading, history, Scotland, historical weaponry, folk music and sketching Favorite books/authors: Wow, so many, I love, Louis L'Amour, JRR Tolken, Alexander Dumas (The Three Musketeers), Nigel Tranter, Bernard Cornwell, recently fell in love with John Flanagan's Ranger's Apprentice series, and a whole lot more! Favorite Movies: Braveheart, Lord of the Rings, Horatio Hornblower, The Princess Bride, The Sharpe Series (Gotta love Sean Bean!!!) Three Musketeers 2011, The Eagle Favorite TV shows: The Mentalist, Burn Notice, Monk, Chaos, Merlin, Robin Hood BBC Favorite Sharpe Episodes: Okay, my favorite was Sharpe's Regiment. I thought it was probably the funniest one, and I loved the Prince of Wales ;) After that was Sharpe's Honor (because who didn't laugh when he got beaten up by nuns? With chickens, no less!) and Then Sharpe's Sword. And of course, I loved the first one where we get to meet all the Chosen Men =D (Put this on your profile if this describes you:) I'm proud to be a re-formed Twilight fan. I read the books, came to my senses and am now moving on with my life. I'm a proud Men in Cloaks member! I spend my free time protecting Araluen, honing my Ranger skills, and performing epic Broadway musical numbers! Why? Because I'm a member of Ranger Corps: Men in Cloaks, founded by Hibernian Princess. Want to join in this fanfiction phenomenon and figure out what it's all about? Contact Hibernian Princess and read her story Ranger Corps: Men In Cloaks! All those who are glad that Red John isn't dead/copy this into your profile. I'm one of the few, the proud, the lovers of that sadly neglected LOTR character, Boromir. If you love Boromir, put this on your profile. Please, he needs more love =D My Stories: Ranger's Apprentice Stuff Ranger Shorts: (on going) A bunch of one-shots of varying lengths for the Ranger's Apprentice series. Most of them are either hurt/comfort or humor, and a lot are both. Some light angst, nothing too bad and I promise they all have a good ending :) Updated whenever I have a new story idea. Current Table of Contents: Halt's Wedding Night Will Gets Sick (And So Does Halt. And a Few Other People) You Can't Win Every Time Will And Gilan Annoy Halt An Accident Halt's Slippers Crowley's Convalescence Merry Christmas Halt! (Special Christmas drabble) Sometimes You Can't Forget Thinking of the Homeland (Special St. Patrick's Day story) One Riot. Two Rangers: (on going) Another set of Ranger's Apprentice one-shots, except one three part story (The Capture) All of these are about Halt and Crowley in their young days as Rangers. Drama, Angst, Adventure and some Romance too. A lot of Halt/Pauline! (No slash, I hate slash) Again, updated whenever I can think of one. Current Table of Contents: Thorgan the Smasher The Longest Day The Capture Part I, Part II and Part III A Conspiracy of Poets: (on hold) Another, you guessed it, Ranger's Apprentice story! This one is a little different. I've been studying Irish history lately, and have been enamored by some great men who were poets and patriots so I decided to write this little story about Halt when he was back in Hibernia (he's probably going to be about 15 years old in this.) He's attacked on the streets and this group of men find him and take care of him and while's he's recovering, he learns about another Hibernian prince in a neighboring kingdom who has been taken captive by enemies and is being held in prison. The men who rescued Halt are trying to get him out and Halt decides to throw his lot in with them and help rescue a fellow prince. All the men are going to be based off of real historical Irishmen. Chapter nine up. Alexander Dumas Stories Return of Mordaunt: (Complete) This is my first Three Musketeer's story! Book verse, and mostly accurate. I only added one OC and tossed in another historical person too. Mordaunt comes back to seek revenge on the Musketeers, particularly Athos who was responsible for his mother's death and his own, (though in my story, he wasn't really dead) Again, no slash. Pairings- D'Artagnan/Constance, Athos/OC All For One: (on going) Series of one-shots that surround the Three Musketeers books/movies. No slash and it's going to be updated whenever I think of a new story. Current Table of Contents: All For One The Sharpest Knife My Turn to Play the Idiot Part I & Part II Athos Catches a Sniffle Learning to Defend Forgive and Forget (Christmas Story) Ravioli (Dictionary word Challenge) Going Soft The Problem with Parties The Hardest Measures: Part One: A Darkness Part Two: Nightmares Revisited Part Three: To Avenge Wrongs All Fall Down Words In Anger Someday Another Side (Companion story to Suthern-bell85's story "In Dreams" Esprit de Corps chap. 25) Evil Intentions, Part I & Part II (Sequel to "All Fall Down") Parenthood Holding on Part I & Part II To Comfort (Companion story to Suthern-bell85's story "In Dreams" Esprit de Coprs chap. 25) Je Ne Sais Quoi When the Battle's Over An Ill Advised Adventure Switched Personalities Fathers, Brothers, Sons No Accounting What Happened at le Rue Ferou (Deleted Scenes Challenge Story) The Man Inside Celebratory Prompts (In honor of the movie coming out on dvd) The Locket Part I & Part II The Result of October 11th, 1633 The End of Sanity (Random Word Challenge Story) Lessons of a Soldier The Awkward Days Duty and Friendship (Porthos and D'Artagnan Challenge Story) A Brother's Duty Gifts from the Heart: (complete) Co-Authored with Suthern-bell85. A Christmas story for the Three Musketeers. D'Artagnan feels homesick as it's his first year away from home for the holidays so Athos and the others decide to invite his parents to Paris instead. Lot's of fluff and all that. In short, a warm little Christmas story ;) Fathers and Sons: (complete) Another story co-authored with Suthern-bell85. Mainly a fluff/family piece where D'Artagnan's father comes for a surprise visit just when D'Artagnan gets wounded. Athos is then afraid that Bertrand will think they can't take care of his son so he angsts, but then Bertrand thanks him for keeping an eye on D'Artagnan, because, don't we all know how hard that is? To Be A Musketeer: (complete) This is a story about how Aramis joined the musketeers and met Athos and Porthos--they didn't always get along... They get thrown into their first mission together only a few days after Aramis joins them, and they end up having to work by trial and error to find out how to get out of the bad situation they find themselves in. And in doing that, they have to learn to work together. In Love and War: (complete) D'Artagnan proposes to a women he has grown quite fond of, but is she really who he thinks she is? D'Artagnan/OC I can't write a really good description for this without giving my plot away ;) Musketeers Spoofed:(on-going) I've been thinking for a while about writing a series of spoof stories about each of the running gags from the Dumas fandom kind of like the "Dear Fangirls" letters but actual stories. Hopefully they will be pretty funny ;) Current Table of Contents:
Aramis' Hankies Stories for other fandoms: England Expects: (complete) A Horatio Hornblower one-shot. An alternate ending to "The Wrong War/Frogs and Lobsters" where Horatio gets wounded in the retreat and ends up waking up on shore several days later to find Captain Pellew sitting by his bedside. He's pretty torn up about what happened in France and Pellew gives him some fatherly advice to get him back on his feet. Really fluffy father/son stuff. =) Sword Brothers: (on going) A collection of one-shots based off of the book/movie "Eagle of the Ninth" surrounding Marcus and Esca. Mostly, friendship, adventure and hurt/comfort, but I'm not sure of all I'll do with this yet. Definitely not slash-- there is so much of that for this fandom, it's terrible. Current Table of Contents: A Friend in Need A Son's Pride Back on His Feet Honor and Stupidity Gutting Fish Upcoming Stuff: The First Vendetta: Another Ranger's Apprentice story. It's going to be a pretty angsty one! It's kind of a companion to my One Riot Two Ranger's series, because it's set during the same time, and might mention some things that happened in those stories. Anyway, what happens is Halt gets back from a mission to find that Pauline and Crowley (who had accompanied her on a diplomatic mission) have gone missing and Halt disobeys orders to go and find them. He soon finds out they were captured by a certain rebel baron that you all know (hint hint) And Pauline, who managed to escape, is almost hysterical when Halt finds her. This will have lots of Halt, Crowley and Pauline angst and lots of Halt and Pauline romance (again something I was building up in One Riot Two Rangers) And will have some spoilers for The Lost Stories. Summer Days and Summer Nights: A prequel to my Musketeer story, Return of Mordaunt. It will tell the story of how Athos and Andria met. I hope to have this one up soon, so if you read my other story, keep you eye out for it! Athos/OC If any of these stories sound really awesome to you, let me know and I might start writing them faster! And also, any one shot ideas for either Ranger Shorts, One Riot. Two Rangers, All For One, or Sword Brothers are welcome. Just PM me or leave a suggestion on a review for the story you are suggesting for. Fanfiction Pet Peeves: I don't want to sound like I complain a lot but I thought I might just make clear a few things that I do not like regarding certain aspects of fanfiction. One, Regarding Writing in general: I'm not what you would call a complete grammar freak, but I have written too long to disregard it. Thus, I do not like reading people's stories who don't even use grammar at all. A few typos are fine, I have more than a few in my stories as well. As long as you know how to fix them, then you're great. I also don't mind people telling me about my mistakes. It helps me be a better writer. I know sometimes people new to writing have problems with grammar, that's fine!! As long as you are willing to learn. (Don't take offense by this, anyone. Please! This is only my opinion.) Two, Regarding certain plot choices: Mary Sues. And that's just the beginning. I don't particularly like stories where an OC is the main character. I have definite exceptions in this, but the story has to be by a REAL fan of the fandom who knows how to blend the character seamlessly (and I'm not trying to toot my own horn here as I know I add OCs in some of my stories). OC Villains do not bother me at all. In fact, I love them!! Slash: I WILL NOT read a slash story. At All. It is disgusting, and very wrong. I'm not even going to apologize on this matter. Crack Stories: Okay, sometimes a humor story, done right and with the proper amount of stuff from the book/movie/etc. is great and I love it. I have a good collection of humors in my favorites. But crack with practically nothing about the fandom where the characters are way too OOC is not enjoyable to read. Especially if they portray the characters in a bad light. In short, no stupid humor. Three, Regarding Reviews: Okay, I think I speak for all writers on this one because I have had several express this to me themselves. I do not like getting reviews that just say "good story, update!" or "haha, that was funny" or "Cool" This is really annoying. I admit that sometimes I don't have a lot of time to review so I cut it short, but usually I try to write about at least why I liked the story so much. Not pointing fingers here, but everyone, please try to give the wonderful writers on this website something to go on! There's nothing that makes my day more than getting a lovely review from a devoted reader. It's a great feeling! Spread the joy, people!! And Most of All... What I really hate (this doesn't even really count as a pet peeve because it's stronger) is flamers and people who are so mean that all they do is make other writers feel miserable because they say evil things about them and their stories. I cannot abide these kinds of people especially since some of my friends have been subject to their nastiness. All I want to say is: do not let these people make you quit. They are only mean because they have nothing better to do and their opinions count for nothing. Stand up against flamers my fellow writers! Okay, so that was that, sorry if it sounded like a rant :P | |||||
