I am an old LOTR geek (I mean OLD). I wrote fan fiction when I was 13 years old (a LONG time ago) when I didn't know anyone else was doing so. Still have old handwritten Beatles stories for goodness sake! I read LOTR when I was 18 (not long after it was published in the U.S.) And I fell in love. I have been sideways ever since. Of course I loved Star Wars, Star Trek, and others, but always LOTR first and best. I did not find the online fan community until PJ did his own "fan fiction" (and wonderful stuff it is too!) on screen for us. The rest is history and here I am.

I have never written fiction for an "audience" before, except one short story in college for the college magazine, and that was LOOONG ago. I wanted to write for a living and went the advertising copywriter route. I ended up in the corporate world and have not written that one novel we all supposedly have in us somewhere. My thanks to Willow-wode for pushing me back into writing again. It is fun, but darn, it is addictive! Once that muse gets hold, she will not let go. But it is a fine addiction! I just have to fit it in around my other life in the grey suit!
