Author has written 2 stories for Misc. Books, and Lord of the Rings.

So, hm, what is one supposed to write in these things?

I'm a high school student (alas!) and I quite dislike school actually. It's incredibly boring. Seriously. I hate the cold, too, and the ocean (don't shoot me now!). But I like reading, watching *good* movies (and sometimes really cheesy ones-James Bond anyone?), but not bad comedy (Zoolander was *not* funny). I never watch TV anymore or listen to the radio, except occasionally to NPR or the BBC. Um, I don't have very much spare time. I like the mountains. Yeah. And blue skies, not grey stupid days. Wow, this is making me sound intelligent.

Favorite books: "The Heart of the Matter" by Graham Greene, The Lord of the Rings series by Tolkien (of course-better than the movie, you know!), "Gone With the Wind" by Margaret Mitchell (horrible, isn't it? But so fun to read!), "The Once and Future King" by T.H. White, "Franny and Zooey" by J.D. Salinger, all books by Douglas Adams, "Catch-22" by Joseph Heller, "A Farewell to Arms" by Ernest Hemingway, "Macbeth" by Shakespeare (does that count?), NOT NOT NOT Harry Potter (I just can't see what all the fuss is about), "The Phantom Tollbooth" by Norton Juster (if you haven't read this, read it, no matter what age you are!), "Walk Two Moons" by Sharon Creech (I'm getting into childhood favorites here), all things by Ray Bradbury, and (I know this is going to sound horribly pretentious, but I really did like it) "The Sound and the Fury" by William Faulkner. Long list, but I do like to read. Updated: I've just started "Dune" by Frank Herbert (what kind of deprived childhood did I have to never have read that?) and I think, if this quality continues, that it and the whole series will be added to my list.

Some favorite movies: The original Star Wars trilogy, "In the Mood For Love", the LotR movies thus far, "Mulan", "Aladdin", "The Princess Bride", various James Bond movies, "Gone with the Wind", The Indiana Jones ones, particularly "Raiders of the Lost Ark", "Some Like It Hot", "Mononoke-hime" and hm, I'm sure there are others that I can't think of right now.

I run. But I don't like running.

Some favorite bands/groups/singers/whatever: U2, Built to Spill, Radiohead, Duran Duran, David Bowie, Buena Vista Social Club, the Velvet Underground, Sigur Ros, Pearl Jam, the New Pornographers, Portishead, REM, the Smashing Pumpkins, Boards of Canada, Air, Boa, Miles Davis, Junior Senior, the Beach Boys, and techno 80's pop in general.

I guess that's all for now! Check out my blog (link above) if you're desperately bored.

"If you took a couple of David Bowies and stuck one of the David Bowies on top of the other David Bowie, then attached another David Bowie to the end of each of the arms of the upper of the first two David Bowies and wrapped the whole business up in a dirty beach robe, you would then have something which didn't exactly look like John Watson, but which those who knew him would find hauntingly familiar."
-"So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish" by Douglas Adams

P.S. My name is pronounced puh-pill-yin, in case you were wondering.
