I am of the belief that any pairing is possible. A lot of writers get sick of the canon stuff and like to look outside the box a bit further. Sometimes the more unlikely a pairing is, the more exciting it becomes. It's part of the challenge. As a writer who has been flamed simply because I wrote about a less than popular pairing, I would just like to say...really? Is it really that important? Are you seriously going to bitch and gripe over fictional characters? Yes, I have pairings I don't like. But I just don't read them. Seriously, it's that easy. Don't read them. I don't feel compelled to waste my time telling the author how much I don't like their favorite pairing. I've never understood people who purposely read stories about certain couples they KNOW they aren't going to like, and then throw a shit fit and fire off a review telling the writer how disgusting the pairing is. Typically, it's the slash fics that get the most hate, and a common phrase I hear is "They're not gay!" Seriously, screw you all. No one, with the exception of the film/book writers, has the right to dictate what a character's sexuality is. It's not like one writer's portrayal of a character in a homosexual relationship is going to somehow alter the canon. And back to the subject of parody fics, as this is honestly what inspired this note...I would just like to ask why you would want to waste your time? Why not instead do something more productive and inspirational? Perhaps write a romance featuring a pairing of your choice? Write it the way YOU wish to see it portrayed. And then maybe other aspiring writers will follow your lead and write stories of their own. FAQ: Q: Will you read and review my story? A: The answer will most likely always be no, or I may not even respond to this question. Usually people ask me to read stories from fandoms I don't even participate in, and if I don't even know the fandom, I'm not likely going to get into it. That doesn't mean the story is bad, it's just I can't get pulled into a universe I know nothing about. And even if I AM familiar with the fandom, I don't like feeling obligated to read something. I like reading things of my own free will. Q: Will you beta for me? A: My answer is similar to the answer above. I don't have a beta profile for a reason, because I know I'd never get around to reading everyone's stories and I just don't like that kind of pressure. The big issue is I'm a terribly procrastinator :-/ Q: When are you going to update "insert story title here"? A: First of all, if it says "ONE-SHOT' in the summary, that means the story is complete and won't be updated. Second, I can never give a definite answer to when my stories will be updated. Most of my stories are written as I go along. If my stories were already complete, then I COULD give a date and maybe even a time as to when they would be updated. Really, the only answer I can give is that the stories will be updated when I feel inspired to write. I just lose interest so often.
