!!FANS OF WITCHGIRL PLEASE READ!!
Carlin has done a major overhaul on her profile. She is considering changing her pen name. Please vote in the poll with your opinion.
My focus as of August 2008 is CSI Fan Fiction. For a selection of good stories by me that is NOT CSI, please check out my community, "Carly's Best." Please IGNORE everything else on my profile but CSI and "Carly's Best."
About Me
I write. A lot. Most of it is crap. I tend to post it on the Internet anyways, for an ego boost. Sometimes, I write good things. I want to make them better. I am an Egyptian at heart (and often in action), though American by birth. I believe in karma, understanding and spontinaeity. I think that everyone is worth meeting. I can't stand shallow or close-minded people, but I'm polite to them. I graduated from Cairo American College, and now attend the University of Washington in good old Seattle. It's pretty awesome.

SHIPS: TO CLARIFY: To be honest, I ship any which way. I'm prone to exploration so you can see many different pairings in my stories. Also, not all my "pairings" are romantic. I think friendship is just as important. Currently, I'm writing fan fiction for CSI: Las Vegas. Ships for them include Sandle and The Love, mainly, but I think Snickers and GSR is cute too and I can keep an open mind. I don't generally read or write primarily for ships anyway (sometimes, I do). Recently my stories have revolved around Sara, Greg, and Nick partially because I adore the three of them so much.

Quote of the Moment:
"... Beneath that cool pseudo-academic hogwash lurked a very passionate man who knew how important it was to say 'fuck' now and then, and say it loud, too, relish its syllabic sweetness, its immigrant pride, a great American epic word really, starting at the lower lip, often the very front of the lower lip, before racing all the way to the back of the throat, where it finishes with a great blast, the concussive force of the K catching up then with the hush of the F already on its way, thus loading it with plenty of offence and edge, and certainly ambiguity. FUCK. A great by-the-bootstrap prayer or curse if you prefer, depending on how you look at it, or use it, suited perfectly for hurling at the skies or at the world, or sometimes, if said just right, for uttering with enough love and fire, the woman beside you melts insider herself, immersed in all that word-heat."-- House of Leaves, Mark Z Danielewski
UPCOMING CSI STORIES:
Currently Posting: Hiding In The Rye: In his efforts to get closer to Nick, Greg uncovers a violent secret about Nick's past, and suffers the consequences for it. Can Greg convince Nick that what he feels is not a sin? Nick/Greg slash. Rated for language and violence.
COMING SOON: War Games: A distraught marine seeks Greg's help to find her son and her husband's killer. As Nick suspects something deeper between the two of them, Greg slowly uncovers the motive behind the kidnapping, and when the truth is revealed, no heart is left unscathed.
Kidnapping Virgin: When Greg finds himself the victim of an incompetent kidnapper, he can't decide if he's offended by the boy... or if he pities him. A comedy/parody co-written with the lovely LaughableBlackStorm.
Happy Birthday: Greg finds Nick in a less-than-appropriate state at work. Post-For Gedda.
Hotel California (Subject To Change): Possible spin-off from "Defining Death" co-written by LaughableBlackStorm
In Limbo (IE: Not quite ready for adoption, but not quite ready to continue): King of Spades (Alt. Title: Trigger Happy Jack): Sequel to "Queen of Spades." A woman from Greg's past begs for his help, even though she once tried to kill him. Against his better judgement, he agrees, and falls into a world of organized crime, assassins, and liars, who all want the same thing: the girl he's sworn to protect.
Face of the World: He hides beneath the covers, afraid to confront the monsters. So he invents her, creates a world with her face, so he doesn’t have to face a world without her. Tiny spoilers for Living Doll and Dead Doll. AU. Character Death.
The Dark I Know Well: Someone has a shameful secret which may prove deadly... A very intimate case study.
PUT UP FOR ADOPTION-- PLEASE NOTIFY ME IF INTERESTED IN ADOPTING THESE PLOTS AND I WILL WORK WITH YOU ON THEM: Nevada Devil: When one of their own is reported missing, Nick and Greg brave the rainy storm to try and find their lost friend. They find her car crashed into a tree, but no sign of her save for a set of footprints in the mud that inexplicably disappear into nothing. Also at the scene, quite disturbingly, they find claw marks and another set of footprints, far too sinister to be human...
The Inbetweens: When Sara and Nick respond to a crime scene in an unkempt apartment with black duct tape on the windows, Sara is far from unnerved. Until she finds a young girl, naked and locked in her own closet who claims that she doesn't exist. Sara unwittingly catches the girl's disease when she grabs her by the shoulders to calm her down. Afterwards, she has flashes of two different worlds, different lives, with different lovers, and begins to lose her own grip on reality. A supernatural Sandle Versus GSR in a whole new way.
Completed CSI Stories: Defining Death: After a strangely sensual encounter with an unusual woman, Greg begins to panic about the possibility of him being dead. Sara just tells him to stop bleeding on her interior. A macabre comedy.
Hiding In The Rye: In his efforts to get closer to Nick, Greg uncovers a violent secret about Nick's past, and suffers the consequences for it. Can Greg convince Nick that what he feels is not a sin? Nick/Greg slash. Rated for language and violence.
Love Song of N. Parker Stokes: Alternative and WMTDB Title: "Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock and other Inane Ramblings" . Nick attempts to rid Greg of the latter’s disdain for poetry, but all Greg wants to do is sleep.Nick/Greg established fluffy goodness.
The Happiest Place On Earth: Greg tries to alter a tragedy by going back in time. An experiment in temporal physics and storytelling. Nick/Greg implied slash. One-shot, pseudo-character death, note the genre.
Suicidal Slip of the Tongue: When Nick finds an ominous note in Greg’s locker, he fears the worst, and hurries to Greg’s house, only to find things aren’t exactly what he had expected. Nick/Greg slash. A pseudo-parody. Rated for some language and, of course, slash.
Learn To Be Still: Greg couldn’t figure out exactly why he felt so guilty flirting with the new girl in front of Nick. He thought it was just because she had replaced Warrick. Boy, was he wrong. Nick/Greg slash.
Waking the Dead: Brass knows something about Greg's sudden death that he isn't telling Nick and Sara. Determined to get justice for their friend, they find themselves crossing the FBI, falling into graves, and entangling themselves with a group of cannibalistic killers.
Eggshells and Ivory: Post-For Gedda. Nick can’t remember what color he painted his walls and it’s driving him crazy. Nick/Greg friendship.
Las Plagas: When Greg asked her to help him break up with his overbearing girlfriend, Sara hadn’t been clear on the lengths she’d be willing to go to. Sandle, one shot. Rated for suggestive language and some adult situations. (NOTE: I don't recommend this one AT ALL. SKIP IT!)
You Owe Me One: When Greg asked her to help him break up with his overbearing girlfriend, Sara hadn’t been clear on the lengths she’d be willing to go to. Sandle, one shot. Rated for suggestive language and some adult situations.
Left Behind: When Sara finally returns to Vegas, it’s too little, too late. Latent GSR, team friendship, Sandlish undertones but I’ll bet it’s not what you expect. Character death. Two-shot and... I confess... a bit of a song fic.
God Hates You: When Greg’s friend comes to town, tragedy strikes. Sara tries her best to keep Greg stoic after an awful hate crime tears an old friendship apart. Sandle. Heavy themes.
So Close To Home: An ambush in the desert leaves Greg humiliated and isolated from his friends, even though they were less than half a mile away. Mature themes, please be advised.
Silent Night: The graveyard shift's makeshift Christmas party is cut short when Greg and Catherine are called into a bloody quadruple homicide in a suburban home. When Catherine is attacked on the scene, the suspect whispers a secret to her. Greg finds himself fighting demons he thought he had chased away years ago when the death of the daughter begins to haunt him. Sara becomes interested in a witness brought in for questioning, and subsequently is targeted by a very jealous, and very dangerous man, who was taught by his family to hate himself.
Night Bleeds: The night, with its slithering tendrils, bleeds darkness into the twilight of every daytime memory one has when one is locked away from the sun too long. Torture was not Greg's favorite pastime. But unfortunately, it was theirs. A dark fic.
Queen of Spades: Greg thought it was a bad day when he woke up in the middle of the desert covered in blood. But he knew for sure when he called work and found out he’s been missing for three days straight. A humorous mystery with a twist ending.
Not A Cloud In The Sky: An argument between Greg and Grissom piques Sara’s interest. When she confronts both of them about it, she learns Greg’s goofball act isn’t always just a display of his childlike enthusiasm, but sometimes his last defense. Sara/Greg Friendship fic. WARNING: Slight character death. Yes, only slight.
She's Dark Now: "When Ernie died, I knew he was my last chance. And they all have their little bisque dolls. It’s always just a matter of breaking the toy. The tricky part is, you have to be careful not to break the man as well. I learned that the hard way." GSR, Spoilers for Living Doll.
Salam: While investigating the brutal murder of a Muslim woman, Nick and Greg find themselves caught in a hostage situation and Sara volunteers to negotiate. Misunderstandings lead to further deaths. Dealing with racism, hate and ignorance, the team has to make sure everyone comes out of this alive. No pairings. Team friendship.
Phoenix: The man who shattered Sara is dead, but his wife has a secret concerning Greg which Catherine scrambles to keep hidden. Little does anyone know, Greg has a secret he's trying to keep hidden too, even from himself. Sequel to Collateral Damage. Sandle (smidgeon of GSR)
Collateral Damage: After being tortured and sexually assaulted, Greg and Sara find themselves growing much closer, which is not good news for Sara and Grissom's relationship. It's all a mess until a new criminal threatens to solve Sara's problem for her. Sequel to Slither, Sandle, GSR.
You Look Beautiful: The last thing a man should say to a bride on her wedding day is how he should have been her groom. Luckily, Greg Sanders knows better. GSR, One-sided Sandle. One-shot.
Fine Flowers: Catherine, Sara and Warrick find themselves acting strange after investigating an infanticide, and the child's parents' subsequent murder/suicide. Catherine donnes a miniskirt and upsets Sara by trying (and in one case succeeding) to seduce various male colleagues. Meanwhile, Greg plans a party that doesn't look like anyone wants to attend and Warrick has unusual marital problems. A ghost story. SaraCath friendship. Sandle, YoBling.
Finding Mr. Hyde: Initially, Greg's sudden disappearance worries his colleagues, until they find he was playing hooky to win big at the black jack table. As time goes on, however, and his violent behavior begins to threaten Sara's life and his own, the team discovers that Greg is an unwilling guinea pig in a horrific human experimentation gone wrong. Sandle.
Slither: Sara and Greg are kidnapped on assignment. While Grissom thinks of all the things he never said, Greg fights to protect Sara from a vicious sexual predator. Meanwhile, in a desperate effort to save and protect his friends, Nick finds himself entangled in a blackmailing plot for which he could find himself behind bars for the rape and murder of a woman he knew twelve years ago. GSR (smidgeon of Sandle).
