A Notice to SoD readers:

Unfortunately, there has been a small delay in writing the next chapter of The Snare of Darkness. For one thing I'm starting my 8-month co-op work placement tomorrow, so as I'm adjusting to the work setting my time for writing may be limited. The bigger obstacle, though, is that my Microsoft Office has completed died unexpectedly, leaving me without Microsoft Word to write with. This should hopefully only be a short delay though - Either I'll get the problem sorted out, or I'll resort to finding a replacement. In the meantime, I just wanted to inform any readers that the next chapter WILL come, it will just be a bit slower in happening.

Update: Turns out the problem was more extensive than I had thought. It seems my computer had a virus that was targeting all things Microsoft on my computer, and it has recently culminated in disabling the boot system for Windows, meaning my computer is now basically a glorified paperweight and I will have to find some way to repair it. However, this does NOT mean that SoD is stalled indefinitely. Instead I am using my company laptop to write with (when I don't have work to do on it, of course), and so I may have a new chapter ready before too much longer. Unfortunately my art hiatus will continue until I can get my own computer fixed, though, but such is life.

Not much to say about myself really. I'm a university student by "profession", writer by hobby, and thanks to the former I do a fair bit less of the latter than I would like. I mostly write stories for the fun of it, and often just for myself, but recently I've been approaching it more seriously and hope to be a published writer some day.

I consider myself to be a decent writer, and I have a lot of respect for people who can take an idea and turn it into a deep and entertaining story. Whether it's a book, a movie, or a game, the story is the most important part to me. When reading I can often move past shortcomings in style/grammar/typos, but if I'm going to do that then the story itself had better be worth the effort! ;)

Other than that, I'm a fan of sci-fi and action movies, books from pretty much any genre, video games (a LOT), and of course I'm a self-professed computer geek! (Go ahead and laugh; you wouldn't even be on this site now if not for geeks like me!)

About me as a writer:
-To date I have written and completed 6 full-length stories. (TBL makes 7)
-I am in the process of writing an original trilogy of books with the intention of trying to get them published
-I've been told that I'm too humble: if someone compliments my work a lot or claims that it's better than something else they've read, I can be hesitant to believe them (but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the comment :D )
-I hate leaving a story unfinished. Take that as a promise that I will never randomly disappear from this site while a story (or series) is in progress, no matter how it is being received.
-I make it a priority to reply to every review to one of my stories (unless someone reviews a lot, in which case I will reply to every couple of reviews or so)
-I always have extremely low expectations of how my own work will be received. (Case in point: The Broken Line. When I started posting it, I thought 20 reviews for the whole story was very optimistic. Triple digits? Never! And yet...)
