About the Stories:

Shine is a modern adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. If you haven't read it since it was completed in 2005, then it is probably a very different story from what you remember.

You Were The First Mile is a modern adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma with the same setting as Shine.

Sirena is a sample from a book of short stories I'm writing.

I am currently working on a modern adaptation of Jane Austen's Persuasion tentatively titled From Where You Are. I have the story outlined and some of the first chapter written, but I don't expect it to be finished for quite some time.

Quotes

Good writing takes more than just time; it wants your best moments and the best of you. - Real Live Preacher

All writers are vain, selfish, and lazy, and at the very bottom of their motives lies a mystery. Writing a book is a long, exhausting struggle, like a long bout of some painful illness. One would never undertake such a thing if one were not driven by some demon whom one can neither resist nor understand. - George Orwell

She realized as a girl of eight that if she sat down and wrote her stories, she could escape the parts of life she didn't like, embroider the parts she did and thus control the life she had. - Dudley Clendinen

Every creator painfully experiences the chasm between her inner vision and its ultimate expression. The chasm is never completely bridged. We all have the conviction, perhaps illusory, that we have much more to say than appears on the paper. - Isaac Bashevis Singer

Any reviewer who expresses rage and loathing for a novel is preposterous. He or she is like a person who has put on full armor and attacked a hot fudge sundae. - Kurt Vonnegut
