Author has written 25 stories for StarTrek: The Next Generation, StarTrek: Deep Space Nine, StarTrek: Other, Babylon 5, StarTrek: The Original Series, Mummy, and Labyrinth. Disclaimer: I don't own Star Trek, Babylon 5, Labyrinth, or the Mummy. 5/21/3013 Update For those of you who aren't aware, I'm currently writing a rom-com collaboration with Bewildered Female called "Forbidden Love: A Tristan and Bianca Story." It takes place a little after my story "Rage Against the Dying of the Light," and..well, I think you'll have to ask her exactly when it takes place in her story order. I read and keep up with all of her stories regularly so it all makes perfect sense to me. Anyway, check it out, and do be kind enough to leave her a review! Yeah, and you might want to read the reviews that are already there--they're as good as the story! I must apologize again for how slow I've been in updating. As most of you already know, I started a fabulous job in January. As a result, I unfortunately don't have as much time to devote to my writing. Rest assured, however, as it remains my intention to finish ALL of my stories before the end of the year (good grief! It's almost June!), and perhaps add some new ones. Right now, the next few chapters of "Romancing the Romulan," and "War Burns and the Laws Fall Mute" are in the works. They should be up in the next few weeks. Sadly, I have a short attention span when it comes to writing, so that's why I have five stories going on at once. Also, I occasionally will write ahead a few chapters in order to make sure the story flows properly. This is very much the case with "Romancing." Thanks for all of your patience and support! Lorna Winters So you're intrigued by this lady writer, are you? Obviously, since you've pulled up my profile page! I'm flattered! I want to improve my writing, and at the same time free myself from the doldrums of this mundane existence. I've been writing for over a year and a half now, and I'd like to think I've come a long way. You need only read my first story and compare it to my latest update to see what I mean. Naturally, I realize that I have a long way to go still. Reviews are, of course, greatly appreciated! Eventually, I aspire to be a published author. My husband hopes that I'll be famous someday, so that he can at last live the life he's accustomed to (Yeah, he's so cute like that). I don't necessarily see that part happening, but it's nice to dream, right? My favorite subjects to write about are Romulan characters from TNG and DS9 (Bochra, from "The Enemy," is my favorite--just in case you can't tell!). I like trying my hand at other things on occasion when the fancy strikes me. But for the most part, it's Star Trek, or rather, Star Trek as I see it was meant to be. People tell me that my stories don't read like Star Trek stories, but that's because I like to focus on the romantic potential that is always there, yet never developed. "Is it not a truth universally acknowledged, that an unmarried Romulan must be in want of a human wife?" So wrote one of my reviewers. Yep, you guessed it! That's pretty much the basic scenario of most of my Star Trek stories. You have been warned. ;-) My characters sometimes have crazy and/or different opinions, and they aren't necessarily opinions that I share. But I write it as I see it, remembering the words of Akira Kurosawa, "The role of the artist is to not look away." That being said, however, on principle, I don't read or write anything M-rated. Slash isn't my thing, either. Note bene: Several of my Star Trek stories/one-shots are parts of a larger TNG/DS9 story arc. Some of them can stand on their own, though (*). Here is a list of them in chronological order, though not the in the order in which they were written: "The Goblin King"* "First Impressions, or the Bodyguard"* "Clarity of Purpose"* "The Lady of Nua Breizh" "Runaway Bride" "Distractions" and "A Moth to the Flame" "The Triangle" "As the Grapevine Grows" "War Burns" "War Burns and the Laws Fall Mute" "Rage Against the Dying of the Light"* | |||||
