5/3/08 FIC UPDATE:
Snapshots: Interlude II POSTED! Chapter 3 almost done. A crappy title for the collection of related Mass Effect oneshots I've decided to just post all as one story. There will be six/seven parts total.
The Wall that Fell: Chapter 17 POSTED!! TRAILER LINK: Go to youtube.com, then add /watch?v=vpHiM7SXF1Y to the url. (Sorry, it won't show the link if I paste it here. :P There is also a VERY awesome trailer on YouTube made by leona_dracontis, just look up "The Wall that Fell" and you should find it.)
Betrayed: COMPLETE! Sequel coming after the conclusion of "The Wall that Fell"!
Meeting Ix: Chapter 3 in-progress. Believe it or not this fic is almost entirely finished - it's just sitting on my computer. It needs a few more scenes completed and then it will be done. Hopefully I can find the time to do just that here pretty soon so I can put up another completed fic!
Parallels: Okay, I'll be honest with you... this one is falling into the deep, dark abyss. I seriously doubt I'll ever have the time or patience to finish this like I originally intended. :( Sad, because it could have been really, really cool. I have some future chapters written, so maybe someday I'll just write the bare bones and post it so you can have some closure. OR, if there are any SG-1/LOTR fans out there who would like to play in my sandbox and take it over for me, I'll pass you along my notes and ideas and you can see what you want to do with it. Oooh, interactive fanfic! Come on, anyone want to do it??
Thank you again to all of my readers.
Much appreciation to all of you,
Lossefalme
3/21/08 UPDATE: I feel a few things should be addressed in regards to some emails I've gotten lately. Please realize that I have the email alert for story reviews turned ON. This means that I receive and yes indeed, actually READ, each and every review that is submitted for each and every one of my fics. Some of them I reply to.. I would love to reply to all of them, but I just don't have that much time these days. :( Sorry, I do try my best! But this being said, when you write a review for one of my stories, keep in mind I will be reading it. Don't mention me as a third person as if I will never see what you say. I will see it. I do see it.. and I find it highly amusing that the only people who seem to write "reviews" this way are people who are put off about the amount of time it's taking me to write the rest of "The Wall that Fell". Secondly, these people are always (so far) anonymous reviewers and conveniently forget to type in their email addresses, threreby eliminating any chance of me being able to reply to them. Probably on purpose because they are afraid I'll get mad and write them a nasty message back.
So, just a few things to remember for those people (who are hopefully reading this because they made it impossible for me to reply to them personally):
1) Please use the review feature of this site to leave reviews for the story instead of as a means to post about your unhappiness. I understand your frustration, but you're abusing the system. If you wish to tell me about how frustrated you are, feel free to send me an email (look on my profile, my address is there) or a private message.
2) If you cannot send me a PM because you are not a member of ff.net, then please just send me an email or better yet, become a member of the site so you can send messages!
3) If you leave an anonymous review, please also leave your email address so I can possibly reply to you and maybe even help you out with some of your complaints. If you leave a so-called "review" ranting about how I never update "The Wall that Fell", talk about me as if I'm not there and then don't leave a reply address.. well.. you look like someone who's trying to get attention and piss off the author. From now on I'm simply going to delete such "reviews". However, if you send me an email or a message, I will get back to you. :)
Lastly, to those of you who are aggravated with the progress of TWTF, I really do understand. But I just can't do anything about that right now. My life has been very very busy and the last two months have felt more like two weeks. There are other things that just have to take priority over fanfic right now. I write alot in my free time, and haven't had a lot of that lately. I'm still trying, though.
To those of you who are remaining patient, I sincerely appreciate it. I hope it will all be worth it to you someday.
"The Wall that Fell" FAQs:
03/17/05 (slightly updated 12/26/07)
I wanted to take the time to answer a few "frequently asked questions" (and comments) that have been appearing in recent (and not so recent) reviews, so that I can stop having to write the same thing over and over again in emails. :P
Q: How many chapters are left in the story? A: Many. Chapter 15 was no where near the end. I would estimate that TWTF will end at about Chapter 20.. maybe 23. So now you know. (And you won't have to freak out when future chapters end in horrible cliffhangers.. keep reading at your own risk!)
Q: What does that Dwarfish phrase mean? A: Stay tuned for Chapter 17..
Q: Who is Laimea's father? A: See above answer. :)
Comment: The Elvish in TWTF is not real Elvish (or Tolkien Elvish). Reply: I am aware of this, and have been since about Chapter 4 of the story. However, rather than take the time to go back and change all of the previous Elvish right now, I opted to simply keep using the same "type" of Elvish throughout the story, to maintain consistency until I can go back and do the rewrite of the first four chapters. Then I'll change all the Elvish in the story to correct Elvish all at the same time. Although actually, Legolas' song to Arod was real Elvish, and I will most likely use real Elvish for future conversations as well, just because it sounds so much better than the "fake" Elvish. But thank you to all of those who commented about this, at least you all know your stuff. :) EDIT 12/26/07: In favor of releasing chapters on a timely basis, I will probably stop the usage of Elvish in the fic altogether from now on. It's too much time and effort to look up and translate, especially if I opt to use the "real" stuff. :P Sorry.
Comment: Update SOON/please don't make us wait so long/etc etc. Reply: I haven't been able to whip out stories on a weekly basis since I was 14 years old, and those stories all sucked by the standards I hold for myself today. ;) I can't make myself hurry when I write, and I can't make myself write a fanfic if I'm not in the mood. Which is why it takes me a long time to update. I also have other fics that need to be updated and that have readers just as anxious for updates as TWTF readers, so I try to split my time/energy between all the fics to be fair. I do try my best to get the chapters out there as quickly as I can, but sometimes it's just not possible for me to get a chapter done in a few weeks. My goal is quality over quantity, and unfortunately that means it takes longer to update. EDIT 12/26/07: In favor of time, again, future TWTF chapters will be MUCH shorter than they were previously. I'm guessing an average of about ten pages instead of thirty. That means I should be able to get a chapter out at least every month, if I stay on the same pace as I did during Betrayed - which is the goal.
Um.. that's all I can remember for now. I hope this helps some of you out:) Until the next chapter..
