Author has written 5 stories for Redwall, Les Miserables, and Temeraire.

I’m a Chinese-American sophomore in college who always seems to have far too much free time on her hands for her own good, despite the fact that she really shouldn’t, given her current courseload. Was that sentence grammatically correct? I do find betas for my fanfics but getting one for an author’s profile seems a bit extreme. xD

So. I don’t expect you care to read a pseudo-survey thing about my pets (overweight guinea pig) or favorite pudding flavor (vanilla) or number of extra appendages (none), so I’ll go straight to the actual fandoms I write for (for which I write?), shall I?

Thought so.

I am, in general, a stickler for canon, though I do have a massive soft spot for good AUs. Mary-Sues are the bane of my existence and I’m a card-carrying member of the Protectors of the Plot Continuum. As far as SPAG goes, it is a Very Good Thing and I get rather annoyed when people abuse it. I tend to go easy on writers for whom English is a second language (it’d be awfully hypocritical of me not to, after all) but I do advocate beta-readers.

The Temeraire series is my fandom of choice at the moment, caused in part by the recent release of Victory of Eagles and the (now old) news about one Mr. Peter Jackson optioning the first three books. I do, however, possess a very strong French bias -- five years in the Les Misérables fandom simply can’t be shrugged off that easily, and I’m hardly making an attempt to do so -- so don’t be surprised if most of my fic is written from their point of view.

Most of my non-French fic will probably deal with more minor characters in the series; my favorite dragon/rider team is Volatilus and Langford James and my favorite minor character is Gong Su. I haven’t written any pairings yet, but if I do, they’ll probably be either Laurence/Roland (which I’ve finally learned to like) or Choiseul/Harcourt (there’s an explanation for this, I swear).

As far as writing in general goes, I’m currently working on an expansion of the world hinted at in La Recontre (which is pretty much identical to Temeraire’s world with the addition of a few unlikely faces in the Armée de l’Air, ahahaha). There’s a plotbunny clinging to my leg and telling me to write an essay about dragon surgeons, and there’s another plotblunny clinging to my leg entitled The Adventures of Gong Su in the Land of the British Sea-Barbarians, but I’ve told both to shut up and go away.

Les Misérables has been forced to take something of a back seat due to my recent obsession with Temeraire, but my love for it is still very much alive. I am a total book junkie, though I do like the musical, for what it’s worth. I haven’t actually posted actual fic here aside from UDÉM, for which I am a course coordinator, but that should change eventually. Er. When I write it. Whatever it is, it’s unlikely to feature Marius/Eponine, I can tell you that much. :P

Speaking of UDÉM, it’s not dead yet! I swear! Chapter three is now up and four is in the planning stages.

As far as my fandom preferences, I’m not picky. Usually. I’m very wary about OCs -- but that’s the same for me no matter what fandom I’m in -- and I don’t read Marius/Eponine or Enjolras/Eponine as a general rule, but other than that I’ll give most stuff a try. Well, okay, I don’t read Musical!Eponine or Musical!Javert fics most of the time. And I will by no means tolerate Javert-bashing or Cosette-bashing -- especially not the former. I fully agree with Sythar and AmZ in regards to their opinion on Javert (namely, that there are two in the novel, and that the snarky, intelligent Javert is the one M. Hugo meant to write in spite of his attempts to make Javert stolid and uninteresting), and this will probably make its way into UDÉM. At any rate, you won't see Musical!Javert in anything I've written.

So I guess I am a tiny bit picky after all. :)

I also possess a certain fondness for Mobile Suit Gundam 00, but fans of Celestial Being be warned - I root wholeheartedly for all the power bloc aces, especially those from the Human Reform League, and may or may not possess a residual fondness for the A-LAWS as well. I would honestly kill for a Fourth Solar War OVA with Sergei Smirnov as the main character. Sergei/Kati is my personal OTP and I'm probably the only person in the fandom who ships it, but that's fine by me. 8D

While I’ve never actually written much fic for The Lord of the Rings, I do frequent the FF.net category quite a lot. I’m not likely to write much fic for it in the near future, because I’m anal-retentive about when it comes to canon and I’d probably spend hours researching before I actually write the fic and I know I don’t have time for that these days. xD; Still, that doesn’t stop me from reading goodfic.

I am somewhat fond of Gondor. Some people may tell you that it borders on outright obsession. Others may tell you that it crosses the border between fondness and obsession several times and does an amusing dance on the little black line. Do not listen to them.

Nevertheless, if you bash Boromir, I will Not Be Happy, and by that I mean downright displeased. Nor do I like excessive Denethor-bashing. Mary-Sues that target any Gondorians do not make me happy either, and I will react accordingly.

I used to be a very prolific writer for Redwall, but I’ve sort of dropped out of the fandom. The older books were definitely the best; Loamhedge made me want to vomit and I had a strong urge to PPC High Rhulain, so I decided it would probably be best if I bowed out. Most of my Redwall fics are gone because they were borderline atrocious. I may or may not write more in the future; it depends.

I left The Phantom of the Opera phandom in 2004, shortly after the movie came out. I do not plan on returning. The movie was laughably horrid, particularly to a Leroux purist like me, and the excess of cliché Erik/Christine, Erik/OFC, and Raoul-bashing phic that followed pretty much drove me out for good. There are only so many ways to make Raoul an inbred alcoholic wife-abusing bastard in your phic before it all gets a bit old, really. For goodness' sake, leave the poor vicomte alone.

I’m not averse to recommendations, though, should you find a phic you think I’d like. I have a tendency to go all wobbly at the knees at the sight of good Philippe de Chagny/La Sorelli.

Other fandoms which I occasionally browse and/or write for include Discworld, Jane Eyre, Harry Potter, Thursday Next, and Firefly, some more than others.

Now, onward to the fic!
