Author has written 34 stories for SeaQuest, Star Wars, Dragonlance, Guild Wars, Warcraft, NCIS, Doctor Who, and Torchwood.

IMPORTANT NOTE: (November 2011) I currently have no regular internet connection which basically means I have no way of updating. Well, I still have a computer and occasionally log on from public places with it, and I continue to write which means I have a backlog of chapters building up but I have no way of uploading them until further notice, at least not on a regular schedule. I am working to fix this ASAP, but right now the ISP's in my area are backlogged with network issues and demands for new hookups, so... yeah... I will try to upload and update when I can.

I like many fandoms, but only those I like I write in (duh, lol). I might read others even if I don't write for them. I also like to hear from others and discuss my fandoms ;)

Member of the PPC (known as AGENT MIIRO, Department of Multiple Offenses, seaQuest fandom specialty). Don't know what the PPC is? Go here for more information (The PPC Main Mage). It's an organization that hunts down Mary-Sues and other badfic sins.

I have returned... ish. I am back to writing and I am revising a good number of my stories so please bear with me as finishing the WIP's depend on the revisions not to mention my paid writing is a current priority as I need to have money to live on too, lol. As usual however I use my fan fiction to keep me going in between dry spells in my original work. Keep an eye out for books by "Kristan Cannon" in your local bookstore as I am currently, feverishly, working on my own original novel called The Karasai Chronicles... well, it will likely be named that but I'm not sure yet if it will stay that. We'll see ;)

One warning: As all writers must, I practice. A lot. Some of the unfinished tales here that seem "fragmented" are likely to remain so. Unless expressly stated otherwise in the disclaimer page, I give permission to other fanfiction writers to give a shot at either finishing them or tweaking them. Just give proper credit where it is due. On that same note, dont be surprised if suddenly those unfinished tales turn up suddenly finished... or radically different.

As always I love and appreciate constructive critiques and hearing from my readers so keep 'em coming!

Walk in dreams.
And hold in fears
Let no one tell you
That you have no gift
For they know nothing...

Currently working on:

Original Work

Karasa (original novel - now in the revisions & editing stages)

Fan Fiction

Uncertain Ground (seaQuest DSV - yes, seriously, after how many years I've picked it back up again)
Dissolution (Dragonlance)
WINDBORNE (Guild Wars - I solemnly swear to finish this before Guild Wars 2 comes out...)

Fan Series

The Legacy (Doctor Who - AU/Future Doc) - Collaboration web series written in prose format instead of script. Used to be titled "Female of the Species" but the entire fic was overhauled and became the first chapter/webisode instead. Beta'd by ChellusAuglerie
Sleeping Sun (NCIS) - for Taylor Gibbs. I promised, and I'll do it... and when it's complete I swear to post it here!)

FANDOM NOTES

This is the part where, like a few of the people on here, I take this space to talk about certain things about my fandoms.

Doctor Who, Torchwood & SJA

I agree with Jessa L'Rynn on quite a few points in relation to canon simply because it makes sense, mostly the stuff in relation to The House of Lungbarrow, the Looms, and the curse of infertility. I don't believe a word of it and, actually, I think in order to make sense of canon that it was likely either the Time Lords way of making themselves that more "above the others" in the universe that they were above normal means of procreation, or a way of protecting what few children they had. If an enemy attacked and somehow got through, the Looms would be a natural target instead of the day-cares and creches, meanwhile, giving their children time to escape with their guardians. That or the Looms are a euphemism for said creches and the act of procreation itself. THAT makes far more sense than any "curse" or such.

As to cousins - well, look at Rome (which Gallifrey tends to resemble) - a lot of the time in Rome children were fostered in their Uncle's homes for whatever reason. It was a tradition that carried clear into the middle ages. Coincidence? I think not. I think the House of Lungbarrow was such a noble house where the eldest Uncle fostered numerous nieces and nephews because, for some reason, their various parents were off doing whatever Time Lords do in the city, or even around the universe. Sounds, not only more realistic, but also more with their own canon because, as Jessa points out, the Time Lords didn't have religion or superstition so a "curse" isn't all that canonical. Maybe, for some reason that is more logical they noticed a distinct drop off in the birth rate, but out and out curse by some pissed off semi-shamanistic goddess figure? Don't think so. Now to the actual events as per the novel Lungbarrow... I talked to someone recently and in that talk came up with something that makes a whole lot more sense: He was drugged up then possessed (thanks Jessa, again, for the idea) and mixed up the real Gallifrey with the possessor's strange dream world and memories. As to what was Gallifrey and what wasn't? That can be a discussion for another time.

As to the Other and his supposed tie to the Doctor - I don't think he committed suicide as we'd understand it, but I do believe he died and allowed himself to re-incarnate, which, in turn (and I don't mean to be spoilerish here) showed himself to become the Doctor in a new life. As the Doctor, he would see it as a waste of life, and not happen, but a death that came in its own time and was otherwise (no pun intended) unavoidable, and to preserve a part of himself he was reborn. As the Other, who knows?

I thoroughly love the idea that "the Woman" from the End of Time special was the Doctor's mother. How did I come up with this? Well, when RTD asked the actress to portray the Woman, she was told she was playing the Doctor's mother, a Time Lady in her own right. Unfortunately, she wasn't given a name. I also like, but don't know (she could have a canonical name here), to call her Autumn, because it fits her. Not only in personality, but also metaphorically considering the Doctor's role in the destruction of Gallifrey, which in essence brought about its metaphorical eternal Winter.

I have also seen the light as it has been pointed out to me that the Doctor's father is also a Time Lord. He has a name, and, of all things, he could be (like Susan) still alive canonically and on Earth. This article on the Who Wiki says so. While this now changes a whole lot of my fan fiction writing in this fandom (head to keyboard moment impending), I am thrilled to see it. It also appears his brother could also still be alive (!), but not on Earth. However, unlike Ulysses and Susan, Braxatiel doesn't appear to be a nice guy. Not outright nasty like the Master, but not exactly someone you want to run into on a regular basis.

Why doesn't the Doctor remember all this family hanging around? Going back to the 8th here - amnesia, especially repeated instances of, tend to make your memories fuzzy as to who you know, where they are and if they're still around. That, and as it was said in the comic The Forgotten he may not have gotten around to actually checking into it because he just can't face that added pain. Better to live with the uncertainty and the continued hope that he still isn't alone rather than know for sure that he is alone and have that hope crushed. Why would he say he's alone? To protect them, likely. The Time Lords still have enemies out there that would love to harm them, especially if they don't have more Time Lord back up to aid them or fall back on.

With that said, makes you wonder who else out there could still be around... maybe even... the Rani or Romana?

The Valeyard - I thoroughly believe that somehow and somewhen the metacrisis will unfortunately fall and become the Valeyard. The warning signs are all there - he has Nine's anger and pain, and, as Ten said, he was forged in war and also has the capability and willingness (as proved in JE) to kill. He's also, as he would put it "only half-human". After all, in JE he found that having one heart was disgusting. While he didn't come out and say so, he would likely find that half-human nature a weakness instead of a strength. This says he also doesn't have the same love for humans as the original, proper Doctor. The other glaring flaw in his personality is his almost "over-love" of Rose Tyler. Not saying it's a bad thing to love, nor who he loves is necessarily bad, but the singular purpose and almost obsessive love can be seen as dangerous. It is possible to love something too much, and I think he's got that in spades. Like the Doctor, he has anger management issues (don't say they aren't there!), only worse and with less control. Also, like Ten, since is he is Ten as well, he has the capability to go too far (take a rewatch of Waters of Mars if you don't believe me!) and without the controls in place Ten-point-five will fall... it's only a matter of time... and become the Valeyard. I go into this theory in Legacy, but thankfully, eventually, I will go into the fact that like the Doctor, he can be redeemed (well, kinda... not totally). After all, he still, on some level, is the Doctor.

seaQuest DSV

I sorely miss this show. My favourite captain will always be Captain Bridger.

And as much as I love some of the characters from the 2nd season, I hated that season with a passion and wished it would be explained away as some strange dream of someone on the crew's.

And, as much as I loved Captain Bridger, I loved the third season. Lucas in uniform and all. NBC seriously dropped the ball on this one and one of these days I'll write that rant up too.

NCIS

I love Gibbs, and he's my favourite character on the show besides McGee and Abby. However, I do not like where they're taking his character in recent years. I'm actually beginning to like the character less and less, unless it's part of the story arc where he's falling to a dark side. If so I hope they end it soon and bring back the old Gibbs.

CHARACTER BASHING

I have my favourites, like everyone else. I also dislike certain characters, like everyone else. However, I understand that my favourites may not be yours and who I dislike also may not jive with others opinions. However, what I hate on a monumental scale is character bashing. No character is perfect, no matter how much you love them. Every character, as much as you hate them, also has their good points or they wouldn't be someone else's favourite. It's one thing to bring out flaws in a character, but you have to be fair about it and not ignore their good points as well.

That being said, because I see it going around quite a bit, in Doctor Who Rose Tyler isn't my favourite by far either, and in NCIS neither is the new director or that lawyer chick from last season, however, I hate reading bashing fics. I really dislike reading a great fic otherwise and getting into it and then five-six chapters in finding it. In other words, if you're going to bash a character in a story, and it's not right off the hop... or even if it is... could you at least have the decency to put a warning in the Author's notes in the first chapter so the rest of us who don't like bash-fics will know to stay away and not clog your review inbox with "What the H did you do that for?" when we're surprised by it midway through. And no, your profile isn't good enough. /rant

I also will never write a bash-fic on any character. I may turn a character into a baddie based on a very real theory (and then, if it's feasible & believable, write about their eventual redemption), but I also write them as good guys too. I love reading them both ways as well.

That's all for now on fandoms.

For those curious, my favourite actors are: Mark Harmon (who, in my opinion would make a wonderful 12th Doctor... hey, BBC, are you reading this?), David Tennant, Roy Scheider (rest in peace, you were wonderful), Sean Connery and Liam Neeson.

My favourite actress is, at the moment, Cote de Pablo (Ziva David on NCIS)

I listen to Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, Sarah Brightman, Sting... in other words I like metal and opera, sometimes together, sometimes not. I also like easy rock, dance/pop and techno. I dislike country, and tolerate rap.

I also love horses and when it can be logically written in, I include them. I also love writing AU's, whumpage and tags to episodes.

I am also married to a Gibbs-clone. No seriously. Silver haired, blue eyed, ex-military and even served in Desert Storm. Now works as mine & confined space rescue. While that may not be a cop, it's still emerg. services. He also has the gruff personality of Gibbs and techno-ineptness. Only with DiNozzo's love of movies.
