Name: Allyrien Chantel de Montreve is a mouthful, I know. You can just call me Ally. (Or "master", but that's a whole other matter.) The name has a brief history but basically I thought it sounded nice and so it stayed.

I am aware that I don't write much anymore, and that I have a couple stories that I've just left hanging. Oops. Every now and then I consider working on them but I end up talking myself out of it in the end. I have a couple stories I am working on now but I think I've realized its much fairer to the reviewers if you finish them before posting. Unfortunately, this makes me unbearably lazy. I've been writing two HP stories at a time, the first one which focuses on two very close families whose children grew up during the second war and started Hogwarts not long after Voldemort's final demise. The other story is about Harry Potter's children at Hogwarts (one in particular) and takes place within the same storyline as the first one, continuing the original story as a part of the plot. I'm doing both of these stories scene by scene - if I ever finish a chapter it will probably be a miracle. =D But I am very fond of the story lines indeed.

I once wrote The Lord of the Rings, failed miserably, and realized that unless you have a really really good plot (and are an excellent author), there is NO way to improve upon Tolkien's works. I have also decided that I cannot write song fics - that I SHOULD NOT write song fics. (They are, as a matter of fact, gradually becoming a pet peeve.)

Things That Bother Me:

People writing Main Character/You stories (something I have only seen in the Pirates of the Carribean section, oddly enough. It's kind of like having absolutely no shame in writing a Mary Sue. I'm serious. You're not only making the character perfect, you're also admitting the character is your version of you.) Mary Sues also bother me, as well as plots repeated over and over again.

I also think that there should seriously be a beta reader set up on Fanfiction.net - to offer a sort of quality control. Along those same lines, I'm willing to serve to the occasional person as a beta reader. I've never done it before, but I'd like to give it a try...
