Author has written 7 stories for Labyrinth, and Harry Potter.

Me:
Apparently, people my age should be mature and sensible, and shouldn't spend most of their free time obsessing over children's books (Harry Potter) and children's films (Labyrinth). I have grown out of wanting to be a princess, I have a mortgage, toddler and 2.5 cats. That's plenty grown-up enough for me! I teach Maths, I can solder and I think power tools are cool. So nooo, not a total geek at all.

I've been a Harry Potter fan since around the release of the 3rd book, and have been writing HP fanfic since the start of 2003. It's all short stories at the moment - I had a brilliant idea for a longer fic but the Muse went on holiday then eloped with the pool boy and I haven't seen her since. Some of my fics are archived on other sites because they're a little smutty to be posted here!

I've been a Labyrinth fan since I first saw it at the cinema and fell madly in love with David Bowie. (I was 14 - that should give you all some idea of what an old fart I am.) Much as I've longed for a sequel, it never occurred to me to write one. I've been encouraged back into Laby fanfic by some truly awesome writers - Scattered Logic, KL Morgan and white raven to name but a few.

My writing & stuff:
I also have HP and original fiction up at Sycophant Hex (on various subsites) and HP and Labyrinth stuff at Digital Quill, all under the author name wiccarowan. If you're interested in my very mundane life, I also have a LiveJournal. A lot of entries are friends-locked but I'm open to making new friends!

I've been writing since I was a kid. Most of that stuff is lost in the mists of time, thank goodness. I used to be the editor of the university Science Fiction & Fantasy Society magazine (geek, remember?) and did a whole load of original writing then, as well as the odd bit of parody. In the last few years I've moved house twice, moved jobs, retrained for a new career, got married, had a baby, got separated... it's been a bit mad, which is why my writing has dropped off somewhat.

To any fans of my writing: I've been on hiatus for what seems like forever and I can only apologise to anyone waiting for updates of "Home", or anything else for that matter. The muse has returned - I am writing again and sincerely hope that I'll continue to be able to do so. Thanks for putting up with me!

On the taking-down and reinstating of my writing and journal:
This was somewhat of a hissy fit, I think. I'd been away from writing for ages and I had a sudden fit of paranoia. While feeling unnecessarily sorry for myself (OH! the angst!) I got paranoid and convinced myself that nobody loved me any more, or at least that nobody was interested in my writing (OH! the drama!). I've described it in my LJ as literary self-harm. It was foolish and I regret it, not least because I lost reviews and alerts.

This wasn't a cry for reviews. They're lovely, really really lovely. If you're reading my stuff and like it, please tell me. But I don't like to think I was turning into one of those people who holds their stories to ransom - give me 10 more reviews and I'll post the next chapter. I'm not a 14-year-old emo kid. I'm thirty-bleedin'-five. Old enough to know better, you'd think.

Thanks for showing an interest - it IS important to me.
