And I am a writer, a writer of fictions
I am the heart that you call home
And I've written pages upon pages
Trying to rid you from my bones...
--The Decemberists, "The Engine Driver"

I'll answer to any number of names on the Internet, but I'm most often called Tyger or Tears or Nienna. On AOL Instant Messenger my screen-name is JediChick221--feel free to say hello sometime. In person, I go by Sarah. You're welcome to call me that as well, but I'm aware that its popularity makes it a less-than-ideal moniker.

I'm a sophomore in college, majoring in English, with an unofficial minor in Latin and an even more unofficial emphasis on slash. My favorite piece of my academic writing to date was a final paper for my nineteenth-century British literature course, explaining the homosocial and homosexual undertones to Lady Audley's Secret, by Mary Elizabeth Braddon. It was enormous fun to write--I was basically slashing the main characters, for credit. It was a glorious time, let me tell you.

My main fandoms are The Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion, Lost, and Star Wars. No, I haven't posted much in the way of Star Wars fiction lately, but I am writing it still. I've also dabbled in Harry Potter fiction, but I've posted very little of it. Occasional snippets appear on my LiveJournal, but they rarely evolve into complete works.

Nearly everything I write is a one-shot, because most of my writing is character- rather than plot-driven. For me, this works best in vignette form. So unless I've put "Part One" or "Chapter One" somewhere in the story or its summary, I don't plan on continuing it. I'm extremely flattered by reviewers who want to know what happens next, but that's up to your imagination. Mine is happy with things as they are.

Also, much of my writing is angst. For example, I simply cannot see Eowyn and Faramir having a very happy relationship from the moment of their marriage: Eowyn's just gotten over her love for Aragorn, and for someone with as much of an inferiority complex as Faramir has, that translates into "I was second-best." Perhaps their relationship settles into something better as they age; I certainly hope so. But there are serious issues that must be handled, first. And I'm in the process of handling them right now--I just have to hammer out the narrative structure.

I'm aware of the new rule pertaining to certain types of fiction that, until said recent and abrupt announcement, were considered legitimate by most of the site users. However, I am leaving up the pieces that would fall under that rule as a form of protest. If they or my account vanish at any point, well...it's a consequence of which I am well aware.

That's probably all (or more than) you need to know. Sarah, college, Tolkien, slash, and angst. That's pretty much me.
