Author has written 18 stories for Re-Animator, Catcher in the Rye, and Doctor Who. Hey guys. This is a little bit of background information about me and my interests. I pledge here that I, HerbertWest1985, do solemnly adhere to the below listed points strictly, and unflinchingly. May I be cursed the day I stray from the psychotic but life-affirming worlds, realms, and doctrines that encompass them. Hear, hear. 1. I write, read, paint, draw, compose, &c for self-satisfaction and self-fulfillment. Furthering myself for the rest of humanity failed to enter my brain. 2. I will not feel bad for being who I am. I haven't before - why start now? 3. I will follow in the way of Herbert West, and study science scrupulously. I will follow in the way of Michael Myers, and kill someone. I will follow in the way of Heath Ledger (Mr. Joker) and die on the 22d of January when I am 28. And I will die alone. 4. I will not have my hair cut any shorter. Or I'll have a bloody crew cut. :) Well. I say little, but I lie. Maliciously and with contempt. :) I just realised. Of all the genres of books I buy, romance is the least popular. But I really like writing it. Well...slash, anyway. I have a JokerxRachel fic I might upload, but I love writing slash. Maybe I'm just repressed. Yes. Delirious laughter ensues from hereon in. I'm from South Yorkshire and live in a small village called Monk Bretton. My religious beliefs are rooted in Paganism but thanks to my Manic Depression, I can only enjoy those beliefs when I'm 'up'. A horribly pity, really, what with the Winter Solstice coming up. I'm asexual. I don't like socialising much, I snap at people...damn. I'm kind of crappy, really. :) I practice genderf*k or 'genderbending' and my mother wishes I didn't want to be the opposite sex. Ah. If I had to diagnose myself I'd include Bipolar Disorder (probably Cyclothymia), PPD, GAD, Schizoid and Schizotypal Personality Disorder, and Trichotillomania. I have a massive bald patch from the pulling in the middle of my head My idols are Edgar A. Poe, H.P. Lovecraft, Tim Burton, John Carpenter, Stanley Kubrick, Albert Camus, J.D. Salinger, and pretty much anyone mentioned below. And one of my idols Yr. Obt. Srvt., HPL (geeky in-joke) once wrote 'My object is such pleasure as I can obtain from the creation of certain bizarre pictures, situations, or atmospheric effects;and the only reader I hold in mind is myself.' This is a philosophy I adhere to; I don't so much think of others when I'm writing (most of my works are either philosophical, dystopian, Gothic, or just surreal) but rather think 'Do I like it - does it sound, look, and feel right?' Of course I want you to enjoy everything as much as you can and I'm only too happy to exchange views and receive constructive criticism. Or criticism. Or you could just say hello. I don't get out, at all. My obsessions cycle rapidly. At first I thought 'No, this is the only obsession for me', but now I accept that it's part of who I psychologically am and I just flit about, often after months of being stuck on the same thing. My obsessions include Herbert West, Weyoun, Milton Dammers, Stuart from The Frighteners, Crawford Tillinghast, Henry Antrobus, Michael Myers, Teller, the Joker, Bela Lugosi and Richard Roxburgh's Dracula, Abe Sapien, Holden Caulfield, Alex (from A Clockwork Orange), Kyle and Stan from South Park, Henrik Hanssen... There's a pattern. They're either insane, very intelligent, murderers, old, or played by Jeffrey Combs. Hm. PAIRINGS I LOVE: Herbert West and Dan Cain, Weyoun and Odo, Dammers and Stuart, Michael Myers and Tommy Doyle, Mercutio and Benvolio, Kyle and Stan, Holden and Stradlater...etc ;) My interests include: Writing novels, novellas, poetry, fanfictions, and essays. I also write songs or sonatas for the piano but my keyboard isn't great so I can't play a lot of keys and chords simultaneously without an awful screech reverberating through the room. I enjoy reading literature, often dystopian novels but also anything by Edgar A. Poe and H.P. Lovecraft, whose works inspire me greatly. I like a diverse range of music; only when I say diverse, I actually mean diverse, as opposed to when my classmates use the word diverse to express love for two genres of music at the most. :( I love art, history, languages, science, and like conducting strange experiments on the dead mouse in my attic :) I'm also a fan of 17-18th century clothing and architecture - mostly Gothic - and I want to live in the Sagrada Familia. I wish I could. I think Latin is the most beautiful language in the world second to English and that the world got really screwed up when they stopped teaching it.
