Author has written 23 stories for Final Fantasy VIII, Star Wars, Yu Yu Hakusho, Naruto, and Harry Potter. Proud Chuunin of the Village Hidden in the Road Construction since 2001. If anyone wants to staff Juvenile Delinquency (my C2), let me know through a PM or something. Sphere of Influence update: Chapter 30 should be up by 11-10. You hope. Pet Peeve of the Month: Cold swimming pools. 'nuff said. Favorite Books: X-Wing Series by Michael A. Stackpole and Aaron Allston (Do I even have to explain? X-wings! That should just about cover it.) Ender's Game (and related stories) by Orson Scott Card (A very thought-provoking story about a young genius who undergoes a harsh training to defeat an alien race that tried to colonize the earth. It's an extremely... extreme book. Great.) The Circle Trilogy (Black, Red, and White) by Ted Dekker (Thomas Hunter didn't ask to be different, but after being gunned down in an alley--or was it falling mysteriously in the Dark Forest?--the fate of two worlds suddenly depend on him as he catapults from one reality to the other every time he falls asleep! Think The Chronicles of Narnia meets The Matrix. Only better.) Old Kingdom Trilogy by Garth Nix (Necromancers raising armies of undead, young people suddenly having the fate of the world thrust upon them, all sorts of bizarre happenings, objects, and creatures, and a really unique look at what happens after death. I feel like I'm trying to sell it or something...) The Last Apprentice by Joseph Delaney (A fun series about witches and fiends and things that go bump in the night, and one boy's trying journey to fight against these creatures of the dark by becoming a spook. Not quite heart-thumping scary, but it's definitely full of those suspenseful parts where you just don't want to put it down... and when it's me, who is an all-too-casual reader, that's really saying something.) Favorite Manga: Naruto (Kakashi is great! Heck, I like all the characters. Just earnestly try writing even your least favorite character, keeping them in character, of course, and you just can't hate them anymore. Happened to me with Sasuke and Sakura... sigh.) Rurouni Kenshin (swords... samurai... more swords... spontaneous combustion... what is there not to like?) Mushishi (Mushi are strange and unpredictable creatures that are the closest to the source of life. Only a few humans, called Mushishi can see them. The tales of the Mushishi Ginko are written out like some ancient legend as he struggles to find peaceful ways to allow Mushi and humans to coexist.) Hikaru no Go (It's awesome fun! Somehow, when you mix a punky little kid with a tragic, ancient spirit and an old man's board game... you actually get something that's really pretty great. I wouldn't even know exactly what Go was if it wasn't for this manga. Go, Go-Man, you're our hero!) Fruits Basket (Hatsuharu makes me proud to be a cow! ... Wait... that just sounded wrong...) Favorite Anime: Yu Yu Hakusho (I've read part of the manga, and seen part of the anime... I hope to one day see the whole story...) Naruto (redundant? Maybe, but I like the anime for the cool Jutsu in motion--while the manga isn't nearly as boring during long, explanational scenes and those funny/annoying parts where they're just... not... doing... anything!) Prince of Tennis (Anyone who can do that with a tennis ball, has to be respected. I play a bit of tennis myself, and if I was half as good as this bunch of junior highers, I'd think I was, like, a tennis-god or something.) Ouran High School Host Club (An amusing little anime that is here only because I couldn't think of a different one to put--I read manga more than watch anime...) Fullmetal Alchemist (It should probably go up with the manga since after the series was over I hunted down the manga form and liked it a lot better... but I really, really liked the Germany parts at the end of the series and the movie! Zeppelins rock!) Favorite Movies: Star Wars (you had to know it was coming--whining runs in the Skywalker blood.) Spirited Away (What can I say? It's pretty much just awesome. Dragons and magic and spirit-gods all with one little girl stuck in the middle of everything as she tries to save her parents and escape the clutches of the evil Yubaba... Miyuzaki is a genius.) Pirates of the Carribean (can't beat the classics... what do you mean it isn't a classic?) The Seven Samurai (an old foreign film... in which the fake samurai falls off his horse, heh... I guess you'd have to see it to get it.) Arsenic and Old Lace (the movie starring two little old lady killers and their nephew who thinks he's Teddy Rosevelt. CHAAAARGE!) Favorite TV Shows: The Pretender (I saw this way back when 10 years ago when it was on TV and I loved it, but then it disappeared and I always missed it... then I found the first season at a garage sale for only a quarter and now I'm hooked again! This is so the best show ever.) Stargate SG-1 (I'd love to have a stargate at my house. Even if it didn't really work. I think it would be very artful standing around my door. I'd be the envy of everyone in the neighborhood.) Monk (An obsessive-compulsive detective with an even million phobias? Fun, fun, fun.) Dr. Who (A quirky genius with two hearts and an angst-filled past, traveling through space and time in an old, British Police Call Box... It's wrong to call yourself a geek if you don't know at least several of the good Doctor's incarnations.) Firefly (The Ultimate Western-Meets-Science-Fiction in all the best ways...) Favorite Games: Kingdom Hearts (1 more than 2 because playing 2 is like watching a movie with a few little fights you can mostly control here and there.) Fable (my brother made me play this... and I'm very glad he did. It amuses me.) Final Fantasy VII (my favorite of the FF franchise and the first RPG I ever played... ah, the memories...) TMNT: The Hyperstone Heist (old SEGA game--it's the game I can always beat in less than 2 hours... a good boost to my ego while playing RPGs for months on end before actually working together enough time to beat them) Shadow of the Colossus (Awesome cinematics, giant stone monsters worthy of any legend, fun controls and strategy. The camera angles can get a little funny - and not in the good way - but otherwise, it was a totally awesome game.) Current Stories: "Sphere of Influence" - (Chapter 29/35) In a whirlwind of events, Voldemort is wreaking havoc, Dumbledore just doesn't seem to want to take "no" as an answer, Kakashi is struggling to find a balance between completing his duty and protecting his brother, Harry is trying not to get involved, and being declared AWOL from their village is the least of their troubles. For those of you who may be worried the story ends in Konoha, rest assured that personal matters do not remain personal forever. "House of Cards" - (Chapter 3/?) Hiruzen is a very different person than his young son. Asuma is a rambunctious young boy and the Third Hokage isn't quite sure how to get through to him. Can the Sarutobi household survive through the good times and the bad, or will the lack of structure send everything tumbling around them? "A New Year" - (Chapter 1/?) Jiraiya believes that the fortune of a new year is determined by the first day. His new year at the Academy seems to be going great until he meets a white-haired brat after class. The meeting of a young Jiraiya and Hatake Sakumo. Jiraiya is eight and Sakumo is six because there aren't enough stories about the White Fang's childhood. More or less a one shot, although I hope to find the time to write more about Sakumo soon. Doujinshi: The Greatest Adventures of Hatake Kakashi! drawn by Isshinta on deviantART. The link will take you to the first page of chapter 1. If you like it (and have a deviantART account) let the artist know and she may get around to completing it. ;) As it is, the first chapter, which covers around the first two chapters or so in my story, is completed (posted at the artist's website). PS - Not everybody likes my stories... and that's completely fine with me. It's even fine with me if you want to tell me that you don't like it and you aren't going to read it anymore--SOI, in particular, is a story that most people seem to like but a few people can't stand, and I can understand why. What isn't fine with me is if you use coarse language while telling me you don't like my story, call me or my readers 'stupid' or any such variation, or imply that my writing is a waste of time. It's annoying and reading something like that is a waste of my time. Opinions differ, so please be polite. | |||||||||||
