Author has written 3 stories for Lord of the Rings, and Silmarillion.
Firstly, I love Tolkien, and I love well-written Tolkien fanfictions. I’m going to take you through a few of my favourites.
Firstly, Bagenders. The only written work that has actually made me fall off my chair, choking on a piece of food and coke splattered on the monitor. Do not read if you have epilepsy, a heart condition or are pregnant. You will be shocked, offended, and amused. I have dared venture into their slash, but am scared witless of the Mpreg Ghetto.
Anything by Thundera Tiger is incredible. A beautiful blend of politics, fantasy, humour and heart-breaking material. One of the three fanfictions on the net that can make my cry (I get tears in my eyes just thinking about “Beyond This World”) and I am avidly reading “Land of Light and Shadows”. My obsessive waiting for an update has, I fear, turned into stalking, but that can’t be helped.
Treehugger’s “In the Halls of the Wood-Elf King” had me rolling, as I not only love little child elves of any kind (even the not-so-little ones) that I spent two nights up until one o’clock in the morning reading them. Brethil’s and Tanglinna’s deaths made me swear at both Treehugger and my computer. I hope they both accept my sincere apologies. Also, YAY THRANDUIL! THRANDUIL IS A GOOD FATHER!
Cassia and Siobhan’s “Mellon“ series was my introduction to the world of fanfiction, and all I can say is that I love the Legolas torture. Keep it up.
Jocelyn has written a masterpiece of a pre-lotr. The story of Legolas, and his development as a prince, a warrior and a person thoroughly explored. Thranduil is not a fantastic father, but not a bad one, a totally believable character. And our own beloved prince can be a bit naughty too.;) Also, the death of “that certain character” has put it on the exclusive “Elb’s tear-jerker list”.
And another tearjerker. JastaElf wrote many things, including the story “Leaf and Branch”, but in my humble opinion, her magnum opus is the what-if sequel, “Dark Leaf”. Not for the faint hearted. Also on the list, and another person I should be stalking for updates.
Speaking of updates, why hasn’t nerys updated “The Archer and the Greenleaf”? The best crossover I have ever seen, and she has left us at a true cliffhanger! Grr!
But on a funnier note, Camilla Sandman. Creator of OFUM, and, for what I can see, the first to have Gimli as the romantic hero. I commend her.
Also, if you haven’t read “Concerning Mary-Sues and other Essays” by Artemis, read it. Now.
Miss Aranel! The greatest writer of elfling-fluff on Fanfiction.net. She has a great semi-angst Legolas series, but read "Between Twilight and Dawn", a very angsty piece about the best elflings of the Silmarilllion, our fated Elured and Elurin.

Ohh, that wasn’t very narcissic at all! Are you proud of me?
