A future, harsher, darker Luthor, surviving alone after the end of the Age of Superheroes, and roused into final willpower when the Man of Steel returns from a farflung exile. An attempt to: 1) visit old cosmic Marvel of the 70s and put my touch on it; 2) bring The Sentry to the stars and partner him with two of Cosmic Marvel's latest and greatest; 3) provide the story where The Void moves from shadow-gangster-Kingpin-60s-archetype to malevolent-Outer-God status (the Void of Dark Avengers, the Void who ripped Asgard in half).
