Author has written 2 stories for Ranma, and Gunslinger Girl. I don't suppose one could ever forget where they came from. It's been two years, but i decided to a brief foray back to my writing roots. This time, with a brand new story! But First, a little about me. Elidibus About Me: I'm hoping to be a writer. As such, i got my writing start with the first thing i've ever completed on computer, Obessions, which is still here by the way. Since then, i rediscovered my love for writing and haven't looked back. I now have several novels, one of which i hope will be finished by this November and maybe launch my writing career. One thing about me, thought. I really dont' like to review fanfiction here. I find myself extremly picky to the point i'll start naming all kinds of minor things wrong with a story. I won't do that unless asked to, but you've got to remember. I've been into professional writing for two years. I've read all kinds of books and magazines on the art and i feel like i do know at least something about how prose should work and what it should read like. Espically the grammar aspect. For example, Adverbs. People around here use too many! It's not bad for this kind of writing, but professionally, Adverbs are weak words and should be replaced by verbs. Use them sparingly! Also, Your/You're. Get it right! And let's not forget dialouge tags. Commas should seperate spoken dialouge and the tag, with the "He said" or She said" lowercase and a period at the end of that. Example: "Akane, you're such a tomboy," he said. And while i'm on the subject, i HATE it when a writer adds in words from another language. It totally detracts from the reading experience, having to scroll up to read a word when, causing the initial euphoria of the reading experience to die. If you're writing a work in english, then leave it that way! I dont' care where the story takes place, it's always assumed by the reader that they are speaking thier naitive language, unless otherwise stated. It's come to a point where, if i see something like that, normally, i'll stop reading. So, usually i wont even bother to totally bash an otherwise good work. I realize that some people just write for fun. So why bother critiquing thier grammar/ usage? However, if you're going to be a writer like me, maybe we could help each other out. And yes, i'm well aware this bio has many errors in it. I'm not gonna actually put forth effort here:P | |||||||||
