Author has written 21 stories for 7th Heaven, Lizzie McGuire, and CSI. Okay, I decided to re-do my whole profile/bio. I was born in Anchorage, AK in 1985 and moved to Colorado in 1989. I have lived in Colorado ever since and currently am residing in the Denver metropolitan area. I love to go to west to hike and explore in the mountains. I really enjoy taking my digital camera and experimenting on new angles and perspectives when I hike or even just on the flowers that fill my front yard in the spring/summer (the avatar is a picture I took in the Rocky Mountains in July at about 10,000 feet above sea level). Aside from photography, another of my joys is reading. Whether it be the newspaper, a magazine, the back of a box, a novel or yes even FanFiction, I love to read. Oh and I love animals, especially dogs which is why I am thrilled to have a job where I spend a good chunk of my time playing with big groups of dogs. Obviously I love to write...but you never would've guessed that. Some of my first fics were written about 7th Heaven and Lizzie McGuire because I used to love those shows. In the last 3 years or so, I've moved on to CSI because I fell in love with the show and went bought seasons 1-3 right away on DVD so I could catch up. I have only watched CSI regularly since the end of season 4 (I think Butterflied was the first episode I ever watched), but I now own seasons 1-6 on DVD. I think I have seen every episode of the show at least 2 times (including this season because I watch them onDemand). I have watched ER since it was on, but never really felt the urge to write fics about it, which is odd, but oh well. I do write some original fiction, mostly poetry and my pseudonym on FictionPress is Broken.Hockey.Stick. Which brings me to my other passion: ice hockey. I have been obsessed with the sport since I was about ten years old. The pen name comes from one day when I was really annoying my teacher in high school by constantly using hockey metaphors. He got annoyed at one point and said, "Your metaphors are about as useful as...as..." and I said, "a broken hockey stick?" Which was hilariously appropriate for the moment and we cracked up about it. So one day I was trying to think of a creative nickname and I remembered that story and hence the name was born. My favorite team is the Colorado Avalanche and last year I had a successful blog on NHL.com (which I'll admit I have lapsed this year and not been updating). My life has not been awful, but it has been far from perfect and I think some of my ability to write the more tragic story lines comes from my own background. I've always related myself to Sara in ways (we're both quiet, haven't had the greatest childhoods..though hers was far worse, my parents are alive, and we both love science). I think that's why I always tend to write about her in my fics. When I first started writing fics, I was not a fan of GSR and preferred Snickers, but for some reason that never really came out in any of my stories. I think the reason I write so many happy endings for Sara with Grissom is because I see the similarities between us and I am hoping that I will get my own happy ending some day. Don't get me wrong, my life is great most of the time, I just have some crap to deal with that I would never wish on anyone else. | |||||
