Hello everyone, I'm new to the fanfiction world but I do love to write. I'm currently attending college and am in the process of gaining a Creative Writing Degree, so I'm hoping that writing fanfiction will hope to hone my skills. I don't think that I'm good enough to get published but maybe someday I can improve enough to have a chance.

I am currently working on quite a few Harry Potter fics, I started reading fanfic on portkey, I'm definitely a Harry/Hermione shipper. However, I don't have much a problem of with the other relationships (except R/Hr), my biggest hangup with a Harry/Ginny fic is if you give no back story or set up. Harry/Hermione, while not a romantic relationship, was the only 'ship' that was truly explored during the series. They are the main two characters of the HP series, and best friends. JK has Harry think of Hermione as a sister but yet, both Harry and Hermione are only children, so they don't know sibling love. Harry thinks of Ron as his brother, so wouldn't that make Ginny like his sister. I truly think that JK had Harry and Hermione together at the beginning, or just tacked the epilogue on after hearing all about the shipping wars coming from Twilight fans, and wanted to add fans onto her series. If JK hadn't added the epilogue onto the end of Deathly Hallows, it would have allowed fans to come up with their own pairings.

Harry Potter Ships:

Harry/Ginny: I don't have much of a problem with, only that it seems too neat. Everything is wrapped up in a little bow, if Ginny really loved Harry, then why didn't she protest more when Harry broke up with her at the end of HBP (the movie of which played out like a bad romantic comedy with a few minutes of dark action thrown in). Over time, Harry probably would have opened up to Ginny and grown closer to her but we don't see that in the books or films. She's barely in canon at all, really only half of the sixth book/movie.

Ron/Hermione: I think that Ron and Hermione probably would have dated because they were friends but their relationship would have been one of those that burned hot and fast as the only thing they really had in common was being Harry's friends. It would have been a purely physical relationship at least at the point where we left off in the books. Ron thought that Muggles were beneath him (not in the way that pureblood supremacists did but just that wizards were better, i.e. the epilogue in saying that using magic to pass his driver's test was fine), while Hermione wanted equality for all. Ron belittled Hermione all throughout the books (mental, know-it-all, etc) and I can't remember a time that he apologized to her.

As you can probably see, I've started writing Naruto fanfics as well as Harry Potter. Naruto is my favorite manga/anime, and I wish that Cartoon Network would go back to showing it rather than TeenNick which I don't have. As for relationships in Naruto, I'm not really sure there is one that stands out.

Naruto/Sakura: While these two are two of the three main characters, their relationship is complicated. I think that Naruto does love Sakura, whether it be familiar love or romantic love. Sakura definitely does have feelings for Naruto, though they seem to be more focused toward brotherly feelings but it could turn into something different. I know many people think that Sakura is a 'b*h' toward Naruto at the beginning of the series, and while that's true, ppl also have to realize that her beating on Naruto is meant to be comedic, as well as reigning Naruto in. He doesn't have anyone to teach him right/wrong and how to act.

Naruto/Hinata: This ship isn't bad though I feel that Hinata is too much like Sakura in regards to how they are toward their crushes, they both stalk them. Hinata is changing though and becoming more confident which is good but she's still a minor character and needs more fleshing out.

Important Character bios:

Harry Potter: Harry is probably my favorite character in the series. He's not your average hero, he's broken and quite flawed. His main flaw, in my opinion, is that he is too forgiving. I mean come on, naming one of your children after the man who set your parents up to die, allowing Dumbledore to lead him by a nose after being one of the major causes of Sirius' death, as well as all the suffering at the Dursleys, and let's not forget about Ron, who abandoned Harry twice when he needed his friends the most.

Naruto Uzumaki: Very similar to Harry in the sense that he is too forgiving. Both characters grew up in 'homes' in which they were treated horribly, both didn't know their parents, had godfathers who were absent in their lives and were betrayed by their best friend. Again, I mean come on, Sasuke plunges a Chidori into Naruto's chest trying to kill him and Naruto is still willing to go to these lengths to save him. Also, I hate the fact that Kishimoto has been holding Naruto back from becoming the strongest ninja in the world, I mean the only jutsus that Naruto knows are the Shadow Clones, Rasengan and the Academy three. Why didn't Kakashi teach Naruto some other jutsus while helping him learn Wind Style: Rasenshuriken. Also, perhaps actually having someone (Kakashi, Jiraiya) teach Naruto how to be a ninja, rather than just pawn him off (Kakashi) or ignore him (Jiraiya)

Hermione Granger: My second favorite HP character though I don't know what JK Rowling was thinking by paring Hermione with Ron at the end of the series. To me it was just a cop out to let everyone have a 'happy' ending. I mean Ron is a verbally abusive arse who takes pride in making Hermione feel small and unappreciated. Did he ever apologize for making Hermione cry throughout the series, I can't think of one time off the top of my head. Back to Hermione, her biggest flaw is that she believes to blindly in authority figures, she doesn't realize that they are people too and can and will make mistakes.

Sakura Haruno: Sakura is one of the more confusing characters, she is a fan girl for Sasuke, and I don't think she actually 'truly' loves him as she claims before he deserts the village. I do believe that she had grown close to him while they were a team, and she also has lived a seemingly sheltered life compared to Naruto or Sasuke so she doesn't understand loss or despair as well as the others do.

Ron Weasley: Immature man-child at his best, Light-sided Draco Malfoy at his worst. Ron barely grows as a character during the series, he yells at people who are smarter or happier than he is, whines when things don't go his way and deserts his friends when it suits him. AND YET HE STILL GETS THE GIRL!!!! What the H*E*L*L was JK Rowling thinking about pairing Ron and Hermione together!!

Sasuke Uchiha: Crazy, psycho, evil, EMO-CHILD!!!! I mean come on, that's all I have to say about that.

Albus Dumbledore: His words to live by 'the ends justify the means'. Looking back on Dumbledore's actions regarding Harry during the series, I think Dumbledore truly felt that as long as Voldemort was defeated it didn't matter what else happened. I think that 'Writing Warriors' portrayal of Dumbledore in their story "Nothing to Lose" is the perfect example of this. Manipulative, devious, information hoarder and believes that he is the only one who knows best.

Severus Snape: Cruel, vindictive, petty a*hole. I don't believe he truly loved Lily, he wanted her for sure and she was his first friend but as they grew up, they grew apart and Snape didn't want that. I think that he was much like Dumbledore in the fact that as long as Voldemort was killed, he didn't care about Harry. He is NOT a Light character, take in point that when he told Dumbledore about Voldemort knowing the prophecy, he didn't care if James or Harry were killed. Sure, Snape was brave but how could Harry name his youngest after two of the three men who made his life a living hell. 1. Voldemort 2. Snape 2a. Dumbledore

Now that I've ranted, hopefully I'll be able to produce some good stories. Let me know if you like or dislike them, I want to get better and the best way to do that is to get critiques from my readers. So read and review as much as possible. I'm home from school, so I'll try and get updates up as much as possible.

Stories I'm currently working on:

Harry Potter and the Rebirth of Darkness (Goblet of Fire rewrite): Sirius has been freed, Harry lives with S&R. Harry is more aware of what's going on around him. Harry/Hermione ship, MOB Dumbledore, conniving Ginny and Molly. Complete

Harry Potter and the Shadow War: Tentative title, will be Order of the Phoenix rewrite, though the plot will differ more from the source than its prequel, Rebirth of Darkness, did. Currently being uploaded

The Silent Partner: Wrong Boy-Who-Lived story I'm working on, with a twist. Inspiration from The Forgotten Brother by sprinter1988. What if Harry had a twin, who was thought to be the BWL, however instead of dismissing Harry, he has a good relationship with Evan (brother) and cordial one with his parents. Dumbles and Severus bashing. It also looks like it will be a Naruto crossover, though I don't know how much it will be. On Hiatus until my muse returns.

Underneath the Underneath: This will be a Naruto rewrite starting from the morning after Naruto learns of the 9-tailed fox is sealed within him. Naruto will be a bit OOC, he's going to be smarter or at least more aware of what's going on around him. Completed, however I will go back and smooth it out at some point

Swirling Tides: Wrath of the Storm: Naruto has been banished after failing to retrieve Sasuke by the Council. He vanishes, returning to his mother's clan's home of Uzu no Kuni to rebuild the Village Hidden by the Whirlpool. Currently being uploaded.

True Meaning of Being a Shinobi: Naruto time-travel story. Naruto and Shikamaru return to the middle of the Chunin Exams after winning the war, though everyone else was dead. Watch as they try to save the future while still keeping their secret from their teammates. Currently being uploaded

Stories ides that are in my head:

It's in the job description: Deception, it's a ninja's greatest weapon and Namikaze-Uzumaki Naruto knows this all too well. He has used deception to fool Konohagakure into thinking that he's a dead-last and idiot. With the finals of the Chunnin Exams approaching, Naruto has decided to show the ninja world what a dead-last can really do.

Harry gains independence: typical Harry breaks free of Dumbledore after death of Sirius, another story idea that's been around in my head for a while but hasn't yet been put to paper

Harry's parents alive: I might also create an AU story, James and Lily don't die that Halloween, how does that change the face of the Wizarding world. Might be a wrong BWL story as well with my OC, Evan Potter, as the golden boy but this story idea is in the back of my mind.

Deathly Hallows rewrite: Pretty self-explanitory, though I'm thinking of adding in some crossovers with some of my favorite film series. Will be a Horcrux but not Hallow story.

Progress reports:

5/21/12: Well, I'm finally done with senior year, still got another semester to go before I graduate. And since it's summer, I can now work on my stories, though I am trying to have a rotating schedule for updating my stories, but I've realized that that won't work as well as I would like. So I'm going to write whenever the muse strikes and to whatever story. I'll be focusing on Silent Partner and Underneath the Underneath.

6/7/12: As most people know, the moderators of FF.net have decided to tighten their policing of the site, mainly be deleting any stories that have mature content in them. I understand the need for it, some content is too mature for many readers and the ToS does say that we can't post that. However, it's been ten years since the site became active, and yes I'm only a recent contributor, but why has it taken this long for something to come up. There are many easy fixes to this problem, add an MA rating, or put up an age restriction barrier for the higher rated stories. Also if the authors of these stories have warnings saying that there might be mature content, it's up to the readers to read that content. If you don't like reading some gore or sexual content, then DON'T. There's a petition going around the site, I've posted it to my two M rated stories: Silent Partner and Rebirth of the Whirlpool, so check it out there and sign up if you believe in what ff.net is doing is wrong or at least can be changed for a better compromise.

6/12/12: I've decided to remove What did you say? from my active stories, mainly because I felt that I didn't do a good enough job starting it off. So I will be revising it into something that I can be proud of.

7/11/12: I'm going to concentrate on Shadow War for the immediate future. I want to get that story out of the way, though I will be working sparingly on my other stories, though they will be on the back burner.
