Author has written 5 stories for StarTrek: Other, StarTrek: The Next Generation, and Doctor Who. Who am I? Sylva Dax, my alter ego, who was born on the battlefields of the Star Trek online gaming world or someone else entirely? Perhaps a bit of both. Many years ago, my love of Star Trek led me to every Star Trek series and movie, supplementing them with the wonderful novels (I'm one of the co-founders of the Star Trek book club on Yahoo) that rose up to fill the void, and then to Star Trek online gaming where I met a wonderful bunch of Klingon gamers who invited newbie Sylva Dax to join their fleet, the Bat'leth Squad Militia. You will meet quite a few of them in my Sylva Dax story (perhaps stories, if you ask nicely). Alas, it has been a long time since I've flown with my Klingon brothers, though I still keep in touch with some. That other person's life became too demanding and Sylva Dax was forced to retire after rising to the rank of general. I'm kept quite busy these days with my family, work, and my passion: directing and writing plays for my church drama team, sometimes sneaking in a little acting too. Ironically, it was my addiction to the new Doctor Who series that led me here to FanFiction.Net, the River Song/Eleventh Doctor pairing to be more precise. Left with no new Doctor Who episodes after the Christmas special, I started searching for novels and found that there were none featuring River Song and the Doctor. Search engines be praised! I found this wonderful site and I've been drawn in hook, line, and sinker. Update: Yes, I've taken the plunge again. Your warm reception of my first Doctor Who story has given me the courage and inspiration to start working on a sequel to the first story. I'd love to hear from you so please READ and REVIEW! Note: I have deleted my list of favorite authors, not because they are no longer held in high esteem, but because my email inbox was being flooded by story alerts for these prolific writers that weren't necessarily stories that I wished to follow. I will continue to favorite individual stories. I'm not a two-show kind of gal and I've seen some of my other most favorite TV series represented here: Beauty and the Beast and Dark Angel to name a few. I'm hoping that being amongst so many talented writers in an active community like this will inspire me to write, write, write! | |||||||
