Lessons

My most popular HP fic, and also my first. I wrote this because I was getting a little tired of the same old pairings one sees on a regular basis. There are very few HP fics that pair Harry Potter and Angelina Johnson, and there are even fewer that are as long as this (actually I think mine is probably the longest).

As a black female, I immediately found the character of Angelina Johnson intriguing. JK characterizes her fine enough, but I wanted to explore her far deeper.

This fic is by no means abandoned. I still think about it and take notes on it (and it's planned sequels) every day. I'm just in a place with my current job where my time is very limited. Balancing work with regular every-day life stuff, going out with friends, etc has gotten much harder.

Someone recently reminded me that it's incredibly unfair of me to dangle update possibilities without delivering on them. He's right. So I'll be honest. And the honest truth is I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN I'LL BE ABLE TO UPDATE AGAIN. I just know that I really really really want to. I'm sorry. If you decided that you can't wait any longer, I understand. Thanks so much for hanging in there with me!

A Kiss Before Dying

Edward isn't the only one capable of taking Bella's soul. A creature as ancient as the Volturi has come to Forks. It feeds on the lives of humans in a way wholly different than the vampires, and through these lives it survives. It's next target is Bella, not only because it must survive...but specifically because she is Edward's Bella. When Jacob sees this creature for what it really is, can he and Edward save Bella and her father before it's too late?

The First Taste

Edward Cullen's existence before he met Bella Swan: the time leading to his near-death from the Spanish influenza, when he first opened his eyes as an immortal, and his darker years of solitude when he left Carlisle - specifically what drove him to leave his creator/father-figure.

3rd Twilight Fic - As Yet Untitled

Jacob has always been Bella's sunshine, but his volatile passion for her - his all-consuming love for his Bella - turns into something sinister. If there is one way to push Edward into the terrifying monster he imagine's himself to be -- filled with nothing but rage and blood lust -- it is to harm the one thing on Earth he loves more than his own existence.

Never Hurt You

My second fic. I've just started it, but the idea has been in my head for a while now. Sirius Black is one of those characters that I've always been attracted to trying to understand. What always interested me about him, rather than his charming good looks and his reckless attitude at times like you'll find in almost all of the fics written about him, was his darker side.

He was in Azkaban for years, and surely those were some of the darkest years of his life. Something like that changes a man. And, how would it affect a man who falls in love? How might brave, intelligent, innocent Hermione Granger handle the love of someone older who has seen and experienced things she could only imagine?

This story is on hold until I get back on track with Lessons. Don't expect an update until then. Sorry!

The Obsession

Started out as a one-shot, and right now it still is. I watched Interview With the Vampire one night and started thinking: 'hmmm...it would be really interesting if instead of a vampire, Christian Slater was interviewing a wizard...' And in trying to consider what circumstances such an interview would take place, I came up with the story of the betrayal of keeping one's magical identity a secret from a loved one who is non-magical. And how should that secret be revealed? What if the magical person died? What if the Muggle thought he was going crazy -- but in that insanity he saw more clearly than anyone else, because he was discovering the truth? And at the center...Harry Potter.

Unfortunately, until I really sit down and focus on this fic (which I think could be really good), it's kind of on hold. Sorry about that -- when it does come back to life, though, I don't think you'll be disappointed. At least I hope not.
