About Me: I am a 21yr old senior in college. I will be graduating in Spring 2008 with a B.A. in Japanese and a B.A. in International Relations. I have been a member of FFN since I was 13yrs old, back when I wrote Gundam Wing fanfiction (the oh-so-elusive genfic!) and silly nonsensical oneshots. I have a long original anime on my Fictionpress account called Element, which I created with my best friend back in 2000.

I go by the penname Saruzake on LiveJournal and I am one of the maintainers of the Bad Friends community, which is a comm for the Gojyo/Sanzo pairing from Saiyuki.

I have wanted to be a writer ever since I was eight years old and have over a dozen paper journals with stories and poetry in them lying around my house. Even though my interests have changed towards politics and Japan, I would very much like to be published someday.

Saiyuki - This is my favorite anime of all time. My favorite character is Sanzo, because it was him that got me interested in the series in the first place. My second favorite character is Gojyo. Due to this, my favorite slash pairing is 535. My het OTP at the moment is Hakkai/Yaone. In the Saiyuki fandom, I seem to be gaining notoriety for fluff, romantic drama, and humor. My goal is to portray the characters' relationships as realistically as possible, but if it results in some sappy stuff, I guess that works. I will read almost any pairing, and I've seen some pretty weird ones, especially on LJ.

Pairings I dislike: I've become pretty open recently, but my brain still absolutely refuses to comprehend 39.

Kyou Kara Maou! - Currently holds the spot for second-favorite anime of all time. I have seen the entire series and what's come out of the OVA so far. I have so many favorite characters in this show, but my number one pairing is Conrad Weller and Shibuya Yuuri. Oddly enough, with KKM being a borderline BL series, I have a lot of het pairings that I support as well, such as GwendalxAnissina, HubexNicola, ConradxJulia, CherixDan Hiri, and WolframxGisela. I also am a sucker for Shinou/Daikenjya, because it's the closest to canon m/m that exists.

Pairings I dislike: You know how you always hear about those weird people who don't like Yuuram? Y helo thar.

Nachtregen (Working Title)

This is the name of a series of crossover story-arcs between the worlds of Gensomaden Saiyuki and Weiss Kreuz. In Japan in the present day, corruption exists on a level that is beyond the law. When evil is carried out, assassins must slay these "beasts" before they do any more harm. The most elite team in Japan is known as Weiss. But they soon discover they are not alone, and the introduction of a new lethal team will change their world more than they know.

Melting into Rain: Prologue - Chapter 5. Gojyo's Second Story. 16-year old Gojyo has changed a lot since his mother's death... not necessarily for the better. Upon hearing from his brother again after so long, Gojyo tries to seek him out and gain control over his life. Status: rewriting.

Refuge (working title - multi-chapter): The Ikkou must travel through another mountain pass and discover a building where a young man and woman are caring for abandoned taboo children. They face opposition from both the neighboring humans and youkai, who believe the children would be better off dead. Things only get worse when a certain Bishop decides to insert himself into the conflict as well. (Mangaverse; 535(!), OCxOC)
