Author has written 21 stories for Thunderbirds. I am a Thunderbirds fan from the East Coast of Australia having watched the original series as a little girl every Saturday morning back in the late 1960's when I was growing up. I really enjoy writing any TB character who inspires me to tell their story but I guess I should confess straight out that I am primarily an Alan fan. Blond - fast cars - fast living - YES!!! He makes it easy to ignore his really bad wardrobe choices. Having said that, there is nothing like the smooth voice of Jeff Tracy or those blue eyes of a certain Field Commander to inspire an interesting storyline, either. I love writing all about the other brothers, too. I enjoy reading all the good TB stories other writers like to share. I do struggle a little with a few concepts - long lost Tracy sisters, beautiful strangers who turn up suddenly and those wee Tracy kidnapping stories or anything that makes Jeff look like he's a complete klutz. The movie verse just doesn't do it for me either, however - I do read and appreciate the work of those who like to write it.There are some really good movie-verse writers out there. Personally, I think it would be nice to have a separate section for movie verse again so we could all find our favourites easily but I understand when they seperated it the movie verse was not popular However, let me get back to what matters most to me -not the verse - but the writing! Whilst I believe that respectful critique helps all of us to improve, I am definitely not into flaming the work of anyone, no matter in what universe they write. Neither am I prepared to accept this sort of thing, myself. I have a fantastic beta who drives me hard (take a bow Jaimi -Sam) but I still I like to receive feedback from others to help me improve. Feel free to PM me with any constructive suggestions. I do think, though, that whatever verse we prefer to write in, it is important to take the time to follow some very basic writing principles. We need to develop our characters, make sure the spelling is right, and in my case, check that the commas, the capitals and italics are in the right place. It isn't easy striving to be perfect but when I see these things you will always get a review from me. My view of the world? When the passion to write hits you ... grab it...live it...love it...do it. and then ... share it with the rest of the world just because you can! I welcome your feedback on my work. mcj | |||||||||
