Randomness: Hey, all. My username is simba-rulz, but I have no qualms about people calling me by my actual name, Amber. I like to write as a hobby. I write when I feel inspired, so don't be expecting my stories to be updated every week. I have been writing fanfiction for a long time. I first started writing down little ideas in my notebooks back at the beginning of junior high school and created an FF.NET account back in 2003. I've changed a lot since my earlier writings and actually have to laugh at how much of a nerd I was. I like to read serious stories, but despite how hard I try to keep serious with my own stories, they always seem to fall into the humor category.

I am a huge fan of anime. I first started watching anime back in the days of Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z. Those two anime series are still amongst my favorites. Anime and video games also got me very intrested in the Japanese culture and language. I'm currently taking Japanese as a class and hope to get a certificate in Asian Studies (Japanese). I'm on the path of not being quite as illiterate in it! I can read and write in both hiragana and katakana, but I still know very few kanji characters. :(

Favorite Anime/Manga: Dragonball Z, Detective Conan, Bleach, One Piece, Sailor Moon, Ranma 1/2, and Deadman Wonderland are my current favorites.

Where did you get your pen name from: Yeah. People still think I'm some little brat because of my username. I'm not going to change it because quite frankly, when you've had a username for so long, it feels like you're giving up your identity by changing it. People know me by simba-rulz.

simba-rulz comes from my orange tabby, Simba, who got his name from the Lion King, which I was obsessed with at the age of seven. He's my baby and best friend. He doesn't care how cranky I can get when I'm tired, what I look like after getting an egg thrown at my head (...don't ask), or whether I've said and done things I shouldn't have. He loves me anyway.

March 30, 2009: Uploaded a one-shot, Intoxicating Eyes, for Sweetest Irony's March contest. I'm currently working on revising Cursed. I've noticed a lot of errors that I didn't catch previously. Regardless of whether Try Again gets more votes on the poll, I will continue with the revisions.

March 29, 2009: Okay. I've decided it. I'm going to seriously sit down and try to finish one of my stories. I've put up a poll because I plan to work on this fic EXCLUSIVELY until it is complete. Please vote on the poll for which one you want me to work on. I have an incling which one will get the most votes, but I would still love the input.

August 08, 2008: I just wanted to let you all know that I haven't forgotten my fanfics. I've been suuuuper busy with work (and will be busy with school again this time next week) offline and just haven't had the time to sit down and write anything. I'm going to try to get updates out for Try Again and Cursed within the next month. Sorry!~

April 15, 2008: The next chapters of Try Again and Cursed are in the making. I promise you they will be released soon. I'm working on a little something for my fifth anniversary here on FF.NET. ;)

EDIT: I got a flame-ish remark as a review on Cursed. -giggles- I haven't gotten one of those in a while!

"You fucking ripped off "Ranma 1/2" so I have reported it as an abuse."

Wow. Did I not state in the first chapter that the idea of Jusenkyo and it's curses came from Ranma 1/2, and did I not give credit? Besides the curse, there's absolutely nothing that relates my fanfic to Ranma 1/2. I might at some point have something similar to one chapter in Ranma (only because the image of the two characters in my mind in that situation makes me roll around on the floor laughing XD), but that's all that'll be included. There are plenty of DBZ (and other series, too!) fanfics that have the Jusenkyo curses in them that were last updated from three to six years ago. I'm not the first person to incorporate the curse(s). I'm just the first one that's writing about Gohan that's going beyond four chapters (and I plan to finish it). -shrugs- Go on and report me. I'm not breaking any rules. The person didn't even leave an email address or name. Coward.

April 03, 2006: -fireworks explode- It's finally happened. -cries from happiness- FINALLY one of my fanfics has earned more reviews than Matchmakers! Finally! I'm...overjoyed! Yay for Cursed! -ahem- Anyway, I'm going to update Sorrow of a Shinigami sometime soon (and Dangerous Thoughts -slaps forehead-). I've got the events for the next chapter plotted out in my head, but I haven't been inspired to write it...you know what I mean? I'm just too hooked on Cursed right now. -kills off muses- Damn you muses! -sprays around Muse Repelent- Why must you all come at the SAME TIME!

March 27, 2006: I finally got the documents manager to work. Chapter five of Cursed has now been uploaded! I'll probably upload chapter six on Saturday or Sunday...since I've already written it. Heh.

March 26, 2006: Grr! I've finished the next two chapters of Cursed, but FF.NET isn't letting me post them. It says something about a server timeout. x_x;; Am I the only one getting that? I've noticed that I'm not getting any author alerts today, and considering how many authors are on my author alert list, that's really strange. -sporks FF.NET- I want to post the next chapter, dernit! -tries to upload chapters to the document manager again- -gets the same error- I give up. -returns to reading Ranma Nibunnoichi fanfiction-
