update 06/07/2007 I WILL update any day now... feel free to email me if you want to know why it took so long and what I'm updating.
Oolong forever!
I write Dragon Ball fanfiction. Why? Because I enjoy it, that's why.
I live and breathe in Amsterdam. That's not a country, people, it's a city. It's a city in the Netherlands. Against popular belief drugs are not legal--- children, the disabled and elderly people are not randomnly euthanized--- offering help in suicide is illegal; you'll be thrown in jail--- cheese does not smell bad--- we don't walk around on clogs (some farmers still do however)--- tulips are originally not from our country but from Turkey.
Complementing popular belief we allow certain types of soft drugs but growing them is illegal unless for personal use--- squatters are legal and have rights under specific circumstances--- euthanizing people is legal but undergoes very strict rules which means randomly euthanizing people is very much illegal, thank you--- gay people can get married and can have children (why not?)--- we have lots of wind mills, yes--- we eat fries with mayo--- we eat raw fish preferrably with lots of onions--- prostitution is legal however street prostitution is only legal in specially designated areas--- we have a Queen (and I hate the Royal House).
I'm a 23 year old freelance artist and a professional writer. I'm one of those geeks that really enjoy graphic novels and computer games. I have a tendency to avoid social conversations. I'm originally Dutch and must warn you beforehand that English is about my third language. Dutch isn't even my first, go figure. Does that mean my English blows? Not really, it just means writing a good story in a different language isn't as easy as writing it in the language you dream in.
On DB(Z/GT)
I'm mostly a fan of the manga, not the anime. I like the anime; don't get me wrong. I just happen to like the manga better. That's one of the many reasons why I couldn't sit through a whole DBGT episode without sighing in frustration.
I like fanfiction that mostly revolves around a mixture of fighting and humour, in the line of the original DB. I have nothing against a tidbit of romance, drama and what not at times because even Toriyama showed us hints of all that.
My favourite DB characters are mostly the old cast dating back from the first series of Dragon Ball. Why? Because I still always laugh my ass of when reading the first manga. I don't think any good story can do without a little humour and a little drama.
My favourite DB characters include: Oolong, ChiChi, Lunch, Kaioshin, Yamucha, Muten Roshi, Furiiza, Mr. Satan, and Paresu. I do not dislike or hate any characters. Or, perhaps I dislike Mirai Trunks. I haven't really made up my mind yet.
Love &War (in the world of Dragon Ball)
I have nothing against people liking certain (fictuous) DB couples. If you like TP/TM/GM/GT et cetera: go right ahead. I do have something against most of these couples but not because of the characters but because of the lousy fanfiction ruining my day time after time. Right now, there's only one TP I can literally stand to read and that's Goku's Humored by LauraNeatO. And honestly, that's the only one. There's another one by MorgauseNokami (a personal friend) but that one hasn't been updated in forever.
If you want to write how Goten and Bura (or Bra or Bulla or whatever) are the perfect couple be my guest: I won't stop you. I just won't be likely to read and review.
I will introduce a lot of new characters in my stories. I would like to point out however that despite that I personally find these (fictuous) couples enjoyable under special circumstances (that is: if the story's well written and well plotted):
Trunks & Pan
Goten & Paresu (I actually really like this couple)
I also like certain 'unlikely' couples such as Uub & Marron or Uub & Bura. I profoundly despise most TP and TM fanfiction. That doesn't mean I'm against said couple. That doesn't mean I will never read any TP fanfiction.
Feel free to contact me if you have questions or suggestions. Against popular belief I have nothing against feedback.
I currently have two fics posted in here. One is a complicated tale that intertwines all the Dragon Balls together and is currently being adapted into a doujinshi. >>Chikura: desolation and despair
The other is a take of what could've happened in Mirai Trunks' world. Could he ever be happy now that peace has finally befallen on the Earth or is a warrior unable to let go of the war? >>Doomed to Failure
