I'm on summer vacation! Unfortunately I have a summer class - Statistics, which I'm really, really bad at - so I'll still be busy with school stuff. D: I'll try to update whenever I have the time!!

Hey! Thanks for checking out my profile page! Since you're here, I'm guessing you want to know a little bit about me. For starters, my name is Bianca, but I have a lot of nicknames (ones derived both from online usernames and from my real name) such as.. Lawlipop, Lawli, Hypno, Hyppie, B, BB, Binkie, etc.. so feel free to call me whatever you like best. =)
I'm eighteen years old (though I look twelve because of how short I am - 4'8'') and starting Fall '08 I'll be a sophomore in university. During the second semester of my Freshman year I took a general psychology and absolutely fell in love with the subject because of how fascinating it is, which lead to my changing my major for the fourth time to Psychology. I hope to someday specialize in children's psychology.
Personality wise, I'm usually very lazy. I tend to do the bare minimum required for things like school, and while I know it's bad I've always just kind of been that way. If things don't interest me, I don't put a lot of effort into them. What I DO put effort into, things that I love, include singing/acting (the stage is my favorite place to be; I love participating in school plays whenever I get cast), science (call me a nerd, it's always been my favorite subject), and my writing.
Writing is probably my favorite hobby. I write practically every chance I get. I'm one of those people who starts many, many stories but rarely finishes any of them because my head is so jam-packed with ideas for the nextstory (so I suppose you can take that as an apology for when it takes me so long to update my fics; I've probably started on another project). I've been writing since the fourth grade, and it is my dream to one day publish a novel. This year I've made it one step closer to fulfilling that dream; while I may have not yet finished a novel, I have completed some short stories and am currently in the process of trying to get them published in magazines/journals. I'm praying that I get accepted somewhere, and if I do I'll definitely post it up here so you can check it out if you want to.
I'm a big fan of anime and manga. Some of my favorite series include: Death Note, Yuugiou, Samurai Champloo, Princess Tutu, Demon Diary, Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X), InuYasha, Sukisho, FMA, Sailor Moon, Ouran High School Host Club, and Fruits Basket. Mainly, the only series that I write fanfiction for are Yuugiou and Death Note (primarily my focus is on Death Note now, as it is my current obsession).
For Death Note, here are my favorite characters and pairings that I like to focus on in my fics:
Yagami Light/Raito, L Lawliet, Beyond Birthday, Amane Misa - and any combinations of these characters equal all my favorite pairings and who I love to read/write about.
In my fanfics I love to focus on the characters' childhoods/adolescent years; while it is always interesting to read about the characters as they are in the series, I tend to find it more interesting to read (and more challenging to write) about the characters as I think they would be before the events that take place in the series that make them who we know them to be. Typically my fics tend to take place in an AU setting, while still maintaining a lot of canon elements.Speaking of my fics, here's a list of my current projects and what my plans are for them!
Blue Smoke- This is my AU baby. The first chapter of this was originally designed to be an original short story (one I'm working on getting published), but after writing it I decided that I would expand the idea and turn it into a fanfic just for fun. I've decided that there will be no pairings for this fic; it will be strictly friendship (aside from the small crush Sayu has on Lawliet). I unfortunately have not updated this in a while, but please know I have zero intention of abandoning this fic. Be patient. I've got almost all of the details down for how I want this fic to go; I'm planning on it being around 10 or so chapters, but that's all I'm going to reveal because I don't want to spoil anything.
in the land where no one smiles - My semi-AU fic that I am also very proud of, in which L and Light meet under different circumstances and become good friends as children long before Light touches the Death Note and becomes Kira. I'm not sure how long this fic will be as I haven't planned the entire thing out, but I have a general idea of what I want to happen. Warning for this fanfic - there is incest and rape; I'm sorry if that offends you, and if it does please don't read this story (or, at least, not the second chapter).
The Decorative Kind- I made a vow to write a fanfic staring B, and this is my fulfillment of that vow. The idea came to me in my Psych class, when we were discussing Schizophrenia. Basically, this fanfic is about B developing Schizophrenia while at Wammy's House. I'm calling this fic semi-AU only because it states in Another Notethat B and L never officially met (though I find that so hard to believe). I don't plan on this fic being very long, but we'll see.
From the Ashes- A one-shot collection dedicated to the characters (and pairing) Beyond Birthday and L Lawliet. For the LJ community, Fanfic100.
An Apple A Day - My first Death Note fanfic, it's AU only because L is a psychiatrist (who only takes interesting patients) instead of a detective. I have this entire fic planned out. There's only about three or four chapters to go, if even that. I'm not sure when I'm going to update, I kind of placed this on the back burner for the time being.
How to Save a Life- The only Yuugiou fic that I have not yet abandoned. I swear to god, I will finish this. There are only two more chapters to go, the last of which is already written. I WILL get it done.
Dancing in the Dark - Completely AU. Has nothing to do with the series at all, it was just a bit of fun. Unfortunately it's on hiatus at the moment. Hopefully once I finish some things I'll be able to resume writing it.
