Ah Fanfiction! My ever pleasant diversion from LIFE!! Perhaps one day I'll submit one of my stories should I ever finish one... so it's probably never gonna happen. But so what? There are TONS of very talented writers here with great stories.
Speaking of one such writer, I discovered someone with the pen name of LadyBattosai. While she has only written one story, she has a wonderful ability for writing lyrical & elegantly sumptous prose incredibly rare to find on this site, believe me! ! Seven Feudal Fairy Tales: An action-adventure comedy with a romantic twist
A high energy, teenage girl from the future and a 500 year old, taciturn inu youkai are sucked into a world of fairy tales where they have to play the roles of heroes and legends in order to get back home.
My first foray into writing anything novel length. I got started writing it after being disappointed with reading stories from talented writers who keep writing the same plots over and over again. There are so many places left unexplored in fanfiction and I hope that if anything, my attempt here will spur people better than me into trying new and creative ideas.
A note to the writers I read on this site:
As a reader, I NEVER flame authors and always leave a signed review. If a story is not to my liking (I read up to a third or half way), I just move on and do not bother with a review. There are SO many stories to discover & I'd rather use my time to hunt for another great read instead of leaving a nasty & pointless comment.
The purpose of my reviews is to encourage and give feedback to the writer about their stories. I point out errors, inconsistencies, offer my opinion on characters, characterizations etc. And mainly to tell them how I like their work! If I leave a negative review, it is meant as a challenge to the writer to do better or build on their last effort. It is NOT meant to be cruel.
As a non writer, I admire the courage of the writers here that have put up their hard work for the anonymous public to read and (gasp!) review. I thank all the writers that have provided me with HOURS and HOURS of reading entertainment. My make believe hat's off to you all!
