My previous penname was Laura Katharine. I had many supportive fans for whom I have the utmost love and respect. During the summer of 2006, drastic changes in my personal life made it so I was unable to maintain my online persona and contribute to the CSI fandom as an author. I've decided to change my penname and try to open myself up to the idea of writing again, taking into consideration the fact that I don't have nearly the amount of free time I used to have. It may be a long time before I'm ready to post a new story or finish any work in progress, but the fact is, I'm trying.

As an aside, I'd like to say something publicly:

Having someone in your life who has bipolar disorder can be very hard. The situation can be made even more difficult when the person does not understand his illness and refuses to seek treatment. I was married to a bipolar for eleven years, and the level of abuse I sustained was inexcusable, culminating last summer. I have taken charge of my life. I am protecting my children and getting them the help they need.

I encourage anyone suffering from bipolar disorder to seek medical help. A treatable illness does not need to destroy innocent lives.
