I love OCs. I think they can add to the plot in interesting ways. I also find it an enjoyable mind exercise trying to find out how characters who are not mine react to a new character, one who is different from anyone they had hitherto experienced before. Do I think OCs are Mary Sues? I think we are all Mary Sues and any kind of fanfiction serves the purpose of our fantasy. So yes, OCs are of Mary Sues. Now, getting them to appear in a light so that they aren't perfect and do have flaws is a delicate balance. You want to create someone interesting, but they can't be too perfect otherwise they're boring. I know my beta-reader, Ed-LOVER-92, has some problems with the fact that yes, I do have Mary Sue moments in my fanfictions. However, I have tried to address these issues, and I think my readers don't find them to be distracting and/or boring. I have rewritten chapters after she pointed out that they are way too Sueish, and later on the story has improved because of it. However, I have no excuse for chapter 10 of my fanfic At this moment my, body and soul, to the last, because that chapter was a total Mary Sue and complete smut. However, I gave a warning at the start of that chapter, so I don't want to hear any flack for it! Haha, anyway, that's that for now. Okay, this morning I woke up and have since then dubbed myself an official otaku. I know I've been an anime fan/obsessed/crazy/deranged/demented/insane/psycho person, but I always thought I was considerably less so then other anime fan/obsessed/crazy/deranged/demented/insane/psycho people. However I was dreaming about my favorite character, Sebastian Michaelis, (you smexy piece of smex you!) this morning and when I woke up, I had a nosebleed. Yes, a freaking nosebleed, because I'm just that obsessed and somewhere in my unconscious mind I wanted the full anime experience. And apparently, that includes waking up with a nosebleed right after I dreamed about sexy sexy Sebastian. So there you have it. I'm now an otaku. YAY! Possible Stories Crack Fic Harry Potter.
