With the start of all my classes I'm faced with so far, the largest amount of reading I've had to do in such a short span of time. I'm sure you guys can be sympathetic to my lack of updates until I get into the swing of things, right? This week I was also informed by two users that myself and the author Chedea were victims of plagiarism. By the time I reached the profile of the said plagiarizer, both of our stories had been taken down, but the titles left on her profile stating that she was going to rewrite and repost them. After attempting to investigate it has ended with me not wanting to message her anymore because of how irritated I am. Despite the fact that Chedea saw her story herself on this persons profile, she still insists that it was her own, that we have no proof. You took down the proof honey. FF.net has told her that since the stories were taken down, nothing can be done and the issue is essentially resolved, but I am still upset about it. It's reasonable when something you've worked on for years has been treated like this, right? Well, her version of what used to be Across the Ocean is rewritten and reposted on her profile, and she shows absolutely no remorse for what has happened, despite being spoken to by several people. The site never caught anything themselves, so nothing can be done. I just hope I never have to face anything like this again. It wasn't a great addition to my week or weekend. In addition, I just wanted to say that if any of you guys wanted to translate my stories, please ask me first. I'm more than likely going to give you permission to do so, unless someone else has asked to do it in your language, and then ask that you pm me when you post the first chapter. I want to be able to link to it on my profile, and when I do a search for 'Across the Ocean' and find it posted in all these languages I had no idea about, it's mildly unsettling. There's more about my bout of plagiarism written on my latest livejournal, but I am hoping it's in the past for now. Thanks to the two lovely ladies who told me about it. July 28th, 2009 Across the Ocean actually won Most Original Storyline in the Twilight Twins Award. Thank you guys so much!
