“This was a very tough choice for me because there were a few stories that I absolutely loved. I chose How a Theory Becomes a Law because it captured me from the very beginning. I absolutely loved Bella and her inner musings as she tried to solve the mystery of whether Edward was a vampire. The storyline was refreshing, had a unique take on the characters, and was filled with nerdy references galore. It actually made me LOL out loud, which is pretty rare.

“The Babysitter was my favourite entry. I love a good male POV and think it's particular tricky to get just right. This was perfection. We learn that Edward likes things that jiggle and he's caring in that very BOY way of here's-a-problem-let's-fix-it. Bella is the perfect foil and you can see how she gets under his skin. The supporting cast was brilliant, too, and lead by "MC Malice"... a little touch of genius right there. The character dynamics as well as the feelings were realistic and the dialogue very natural. A fantastic o/s, beautifully put together and served. I'd love to know more about all of these characters!

“Tell me something true… How could I NOT have fallen in love with this entry? You feel for Bella at the beginning, so confused, so lost. She’s always been with the wrong one and she just… let it happen. The way he reads through her bullshit just pulls you in. He sees her. Sees her. When she pushes him away, when he kind of gives up on her because there’s no point in chasing her… And then when she finally realizes that she wants him? … Perfect.

“I'm a sucker for a story that pulls me in and takes me for a ride, ans if it gives me a few laughs along the way, all the better. This story delivered that in spades. Bella's spunky, smart, and fun...Edward's a decent guy trying to to the right thing, but he's also so overwhelmed by her and trying to fight it. I just enjoyed this story thoroughly from beginning to end. Well-written, hot, sweet, funny, smart, charming – not enough adjectives to say it all!

Congratulations to all of the winners and thank you from the bottom of our fic hearts to each and every author who participated. Please don't be discouraged if you didn't place. Trust me when I (Jada) say that these judges agonized long and hard over these choices. I'm pretty sure most of them are bald and no longer possess fingernails at all.
