Author has written 3 stories for Phantom of the Opera, and Harry Potter. 17/9/2008: All of my fics are on hiatus for the forseeable future. There's a lot going on in my life right now and writing has will continue to take a back seat. I have finished uni, I am living in York and I am hunting for a full time job before I start auditioning in a few years. Hense the updated profile. My continuing apologies to all my readers, and I hope that you will bear with me while I sort myself out. I hate writing profiles, just thought you should know that before you decide to try and read this mess. Also, I am ENGLISH. There will be lots of 'u's in places where Americans think there shouldn't. Just a warning. About Me: Hi! I'm Jem, I'm 21 and I live in Hertford, just north of London. I'm perfectly content to spend an evening on the computer, either reading, writing or composing/arranging but I do like to socialise as well. I did GCSEs and A-levels at a local school and I've just finished a three year course at York St John University. I now have a BA (Hons) Performance: Music degree which I passed with a 2.1. Yay! At the moment I'm hunting for a job while practising like a crazy person so I can audition for and stand a good chance of getting into the Royal Northern College of Music to do a post-grad in performance. Likes: Playing and listening to music, watching TV, surfing the internet, watching movies, reading, writing. Favourite movies: Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, ALW's The Phantom of the Opera, Harry Potter, The Matrix, Moulin Rouge, Shrek/Shrek 2, The Shawshank Redemption, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Sleepy Hollow, most of the stuff by Disney and Valentine. There's loads more as well but I can't list them all! Favourite books: --sigh-- I almost left this one out. --deep breath-- The Harry Potter books, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Phantom of the Opera (Gaston Leroux), Phantom (Susan Kay), lots of James Patterson books, The Shining, Firestarter, From a Buick 8, Four Seasons (including The Shawshank Redemption), Insomnia and The Stand (all by Stephen King), The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons by Dan Brown, A Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela (autobiography), Travels With My Cello by Julian Lloyd Webber (autobiography), Deception on His Mind by Elizabeth George, and loads more. I can't list them. If you really have the urge to know the full list, email me. Music: I'll listen to pretty much anything. When it comes to playing music, I play mostly classical stuff. Contemporary music no longer terrifies me as I managed to find and play some wonderful pieces over the past few years. At uni I was in the college Concert Band and St. Margaret's Singers, and I directed the college Flute Choir. I started up a Wind Quintet with some friends and was a member of Showstoppers, an ensemble which produces songs from various musicals. I also co-founded The B Sharps, a group of six girls singing SSA trios two to a part. Anything else? Email me and I'll do my best to answer your questions either here or in a reply email. Thanks for reading and enjoy the show! Jem aka gigglingpixie. xXx About the Fics: In His Darkness: The first phantom phic I have written. It stars Erik and Marguerite and their life together living below the opera house. It's written from Marguerite's POV. Everything's planned out but it's taking a while. 1000 Talents: The idea came to me as I was walking through York one day. A modern-Erik is interviewed for a magazine with a surprise visitor... A Hogwarts Christmas Eve: A present for all of the people I've got to know over the internet. 'Twas the night before Christmas with a Hogwarts twist. Planned Fics: She Was The Light: A companion to In His Darkness. The same fic written from Erik's POV. Might happen, might not. Depends what people think. | |||||||||||
