Author has written 34 stories for Danny Phantom, Vocaloid, Bleach, Naruto, Blue Exorcist/青の祓魔師, X-overs, and Gurren Lagann.

Hello, anyone who cares. I'm still rather new to FF.N, though I've been lurking around the edges for awhile. A quick introduction:

Age: None of your beeswax.

Gender: Take a wild guess. Also, see above.

Social Life: No.

Writer's Motto: Characterization is Key. When writing fanfic, make the plot fit the characters, not the other way around.

I read a lot of fantasy and SF books. I read way too many manga, I used to watch a lot of anime, and I occasionally read comic books. I would be a massive nerd, if I wasn't too chicken to join any clubs or go to any cons. Oh, and I read a ton of webcomics. One of my most recent addictions is fanfiction. I am frequently sarcastic.

My muse has ADD. I will update at least one story at least once a month, possibly more, but there's no way to know what will get posted until I've written it. For more information, go to the story list at the end of my profile.

Everyone who reviews my stories, thank you very much! (Except flames. Any flames will be promptly ignored.)

My FictionPress account: http://www.fictionpress.com/u/855042/

Now contains an aborted attempt at epic writing (which I currently fail at) and a collection of poems.

A Bit of Fanfiction Etiquette: People, please review. I have hundreds of visitors to my stories, total. I currently have less than 30 reviews, total. Obviously, this means most of you do not bother reviewing, and this makes the insecure newbie author very sad. If you like something, say so. If you dislike something, please explain why. I'm not asking for a two page essay. Just go to the little box at the bottom of the page, type a line or two and click the "Post Review" button. That's all.

And not just for my stories, either. I make a point of leaving at least one review per story unless it truly is that mediocre. (Addendum: Or unless I am in too bad a mood to be civil, even in text.) By not leaving a review, you are indirectly implying that a story is not worth thinking about. Yes, even if that wasn't your intention. Please don't. Thank you. This has been a Public Service Announcement from BiblioMatsuri.

(And no, Matsuri is not too proud to beg. What? It's the Internet. It's not like anyone can make fun of me about this in real life.)

P.S. Constructive criticism would be triply appreciated.

P.P.S. While I will admit that perhaps I am not as diligent about reviewing as I was when I first wrote this, there is one thing I do not do. I do not review just to nag the author for updates. If I receive such a review, it will be ignored.

BiblioMatsuri here. I found this on someone else's profile, and decided to pass it along.

"You know FanFiction.net is taking down users and their stories. Please help stop it. Read this and paste it to your profile and give it to another till FanFiction.net notices:

Greetings to the fine folk that moderate our site. I, along with many, have been writing and posting on your fine site for years now, some of the better examples of up and coming writers out there are are now suddenly finding some of the stories we've come to love at risk of being removed without the chance to even rectify our errors.

For some, that means the permanent loss of a story. While I don't have anything that (I believe) violates your terms of use, there are those out there that are never able to recover a story in it's original form, this is something I find to be almost worthy of a legal action, as while we cannot claim ownership of a character, the stories are OURS and simply destroying them is something that is inexcusable. It's quite easy to simply add an MA rating, additional filters or even a simple requirement for a free membership to read the stories presented here, and would cut down on hateful anonymous reviews and posts at the same time, so I have to question as to why such a thing, in all this time, simply wasn't added. If you're worried about falsification of a registration then have an appropriate disclaimer and then there can be no dispute, you took your steps and the PARENTS didn't monitor their children, if that is even your concern.

If it is more of a personal view or desire then please at least let people know and give them a chance to remove a story that you and yours find offensive, most people on the site are actually rather cordial when it comes to such requests. While I cannot say for sure if this letter will even reach those that may be willing to listen, of if it's more akin to a wide spectrum purge in preparation for something bigger, please understand that you are going to be losing a LARGE number of your writers, and thus your income from a lack of readers if there is not some level of action taken to help with this situation.

For those that may agree with this, please feel free to sign on and send this to the support server, maybe we can get some movement on this.

petitions/fanfiction-net-stop-the-destruction-of-fanfiction-net"

P.S. From BiblioMatsuri (not part of the original letter): The above was not written by me. I got it from Mr. Alaska's profile, and edited it slightly for grammar and one spelling error. I did not change the original message. I have not and do not ever plan to write anything that would require an MA rating. However, I am a legal adult where I live. I do read stories that fall into that category on occasion, when they are written well and respect the characters (which are someone else's creations, not a fanfic writer's personal playthings). Writing takes real effort, and a well-written story should not just be vanished without hope of recovery*. The above letter has a few fairly sensible solutions that are less radical than the digital version of "Unclean! Burn it!" Please pass it on, or not. It's your choice - and other people's hard work going down the virtual tubes.

Due in part to the publishing system on this site, backing up stories can be a pain and a half, and backups are not immune to damage.

My sources of inspiration are many and varied, but can often be placed into four main categories. Music, either lyrics, background music or music videos.
TVTropes. org, a website about conventions and devices in the arts, and much more interesting (and time-eating) than I make it sound. Other people's stories, meaning books, short stories, movies, TV shows, anime, comic books, webcomics... And of course, that universal teacher, personal experience.

Currently reading: The Last Dragonslayer by Jasper Fforde.

Favorite comic books: The Sandman by Neil Gaiman, The Good Neighbors by Holly Black and Ted Naifeh,

Favorite manga (a selection, names are in Japanese order): Little Pet Shop of Horrors and Little Pet Shop of Horrors: Tokyo by Akino Matsuri (finished the first, up to end of volume 6 of the second), xxxHoLic by CLAMP, Bunny Drop by Hotta Yumi, Bleach by Kubo Tite (although I personally think the writing quality went kaplooey after Soul Society), Hoshin Engi by Fujisaki Ryu (only read to the end of volume 6 so far), InuYasha by Takahashi Rumiko (only read to end of volume 34 so far), etc.

Favorite anime: Tiger and Bunny (sub), Revolutionary Girl Utena (have only seen the dub up to the end of the Black Rose arc), Code: Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Gurren Lagann (dub), KIBA (dub, some of the voice actors could have been better), This Ugly Yet Beautiful World (what? the OP is awesome), etc.

Favorite music: Abney Park, Nightwish, Within Temptation, Florence and the Machine, Helloween, Linkin Park, MUSE, Blind Guardian, Coheed and Cambria, etc. Also, Jrock. And there are some really good Vocaloid producers out there.

Favorite quotes:

"The more beautiful and pure a thing is - the more satisfying it is to corrupt it." - Rules of the Internet #43

"'Inside every sane person there's a madman struggling to get out,' said the shopkeeper. 'That's what I've always thought. No one goes mad quicker than a totally sane person.'" - The Light Fantastic by Terry Pratchett

"We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give." - Marian Wright Edelman

Reading (fanfics): Danny Phantom, Bleach, Rurouni Kenshin, YuYu Hakusho, Naruto, Harry Potter, Inuyasha, xxxHoLic, Fairy Tail, and a few dozen other minor fandoms that slip my mind at the moment.

Rant warning: Those who have no interest in reading Matsuri's author rant, feel free to skip this section. You have been warned.

My pet peeves:

Out-of-character and character bashing - Changing a character to fit an AU is fine. Changing a character over time is fine. Either powering them up or weakening them to fit an altered setting is fine. I have no problem with stories where good guys in the original work are now villains, or vice versa, as long as it is done in a way consistent with the characters, plot and setting. Again, it's fine. Warping them beyond recognition because a writer is either too immature to show some respect to the creator of the original work or just doesn't care enough to put an effort into characterization is not okay. Ever. I will not read these stories.

Corollary - I have no problem with OOC in crackfic. That's what crackfic is for. I still won't read bashing, though.

Shipping - My problem is not with shipping. My problem is when one or more characters in a love triangle, or worse, established canon relationship are bashed (see above) or randomly killed off. Equally irritating is when a pairing just doesn't make sense. For example, take the Harry Potter fandom - Harry with Ginny is canon, no matter how stalkerish she can be. Harry with Hermione is not canon, but friendship becoming something else can work out. Then there are AU pairings like Harry with Fleur, or Daphne Greengrass, or Tonks - as long as it fits the characters and setting, fine, go for it. Harry with Draco, or worse, Snape, or even worse... NO. JUST HECK NO. Which brings me to my next point:

Shipping with regards to orientation - Stick to canon, people. Please. If a character is not shown to have any interest in the same sex, do not ship them with a member of the same sex. Conversely, if a character has no interest in the opposite sex, then do not suddenly author-magic them straight. If a character is confirmed asexual, then just ship someone else. If a character is or can be interpreted as bisexual, don't suddenly make them a slut (unless they're like that in canon). Beyond that - characterization, characterization, characterization. Make the story fit the characters, not the other way around.

As a less irritating but no less important peeve: Grammar. Spelling. Punctuation. Word choice. If I listed all the mistakes along these lines I've seen, it would take up several pages and far more time and effort than I'm willing to put into it. May I make a suggestion? If you are on FF.N, then you must have Internet access and a browser. Therefore, you should be able to pull up an online dictionary/thesaurus for definitions and help with word choice. There are tutorials and formatting guides for help with grammar, spelling and punctuation. Just go to the search engine of your choice and search for these. You don't have to do it, but people are more likely to read and critique well-written stories, and style matters just as much as substance.

Music:

At the top of each updated chapter, there is a little "BGM" under the disclaimer. This is a background music recommendation, specifically the music I had in the background while I was writing the song. You don't have to listen, but it might help.

Character theme songs:

These are songs I consider to be unofficial (for canon characters) and official (for OCs) theme songs.

Danny Phantom:

Sam Manson: "Cinderella" by Tata Young. (The sound doesn't quite fit, but the lyrics? Hoo boy.)

Vlad Masters: "Evil Man" by Abney Park.

Naruto:

Hyuuga Hinata: "My Unrequited Feelings for You" sung by GUMI. (Yes, it's a Vocaloid song. Don't worry, there's an English sub of it on YouTube.)

Updates will most likely be sporadic, but I will post something at least once a month.

Miscellaneous Writing:

All the Happy Children - Blue Exorcist: Oneshot collection. WIP.

Becoming a Bird - Vocaloid: Another fill-in-the-blanks story in the same style as Other Side. Complete.

Moonrise Recall - Naruto: The origin of the RS Verse. Rather odd. Complete.

Other Side of Soleil - Vocaloid: Just a bit of speculation on a PV. Complete.

Quick and Clean - Bleach: AU snippet, Uryu-centric. Rainy and depressing. Complete.

Reincarnation Syndrome - Naruto: The cycle never ends. AU, of a sort. Complete.

Crossovers:

Five Crossovers that Never Happened - Crossover plotbunnies, beware of crack. Up for adoption, but please ask in a review or PM me first. Complete.

Reach for the Heavens - Gurren Lagann and Danny Phantom: AU fusion crossover. Essentially, the adventures of the Danny Phantom characters at the time of Team Dai-Gurren's rebellion. I'm not even upset about starting yet another story, because if and when I ever get the rest of this written, it is going to be EPIC.

Writing for DP:

Antifreeze - DxS oneshot. Complete.

Banquet - A thematic vignette series starring Jack, Maddie and Vlad. WIP.

Cellular Formation - DP oneshots, not related to any of my series.

Dead Girl's Poem - Dani tells her story. The origins of a girl with no name, right from the source. Possible tie-in to the Spirits Rise Verse. Discontinued.

Faces - Jazz's adventures in college. Part of the Spirits Rise Verse. To be continued. (Maybe... Someday. Probably not.)

Falling Leaves - Danny has a half-decent day that goes horribly wrong. (Dead, but I'm leaving it up for now.)

Forfeit - The dead will have their meal. Canon divergence AU. WIP.

Eternity - Danny's girlfriend and his sort-of-cousin have an argument about his future. Oneshot. Canon timeline futurefic. Complete.

Inevitable - The team psychologist convinces Tucker to write a dream journal. Takes place after "What You Want" and "Memory Blank". Complete. (Officially an old shame.)

Having Words - Jazz-centric. Just an awk-weird argument. Clearing up a plot hole. Dormant, at least.

Hospitals - angsty DP introspective about hospitals. Complete.

Journey's End - Sam and Tucker are lost in the Ghost Zone. Joy, oh joy. Most likely not TBC.

Keep on Stepping - Life is one setback to be endured after another, but eventually, it'll all be worth it. A series of snapshots. DxS. So far, rated for gore and language.

Masquerade - There is a girl in a tower under a mysterious curse. It's not what you think it is. Fantasy AU. WIP.

Our Rainbow Bridge - SxD, AU ficlet in an odd style. Complete.

Psyche - An AU of a certain character's origin story. OC-centric for the first two parts. Complete.

Psychoanalytic Theory - Companion story to Psyche, set between Parts II and III. WIP.

Rebirth - The realization of a possibility, and the start of a quest. Post-apocalyptic AU. Now a series, WIP.

Spirits Rise Sidestories - What it sounds like. Work in Progress.

Vlad Masters Read the Evil Overlord List - Vlad is Dangerously Genre Savvy. Will contain divergence and/or AU where it conflicts with DP canon. WIP.

For the record, my rough timeline for DP is:

the * means original timeline, non-canon

Disclaimer: The inspiration for my interpretation of mad science in the Spirits Rise verse comes from three main sources. The name and the concept of it having genetic factors comes from the webcomic Narbonic by Shaenon K. Garrity (warning, some pages are Not Work Safe). How the symptoms manifest, and the dynasties of insanity that resulted, come from the absolutely brilliant webcomic Girl Genius by Phil and Kaja Foglio (violence and fanservice galore, but nothing you wouldn't see in some of the more recent PG-13 blockbusters, except good writing). Last but not least, a few elements, including the idea that it is a disease and can be treated, come from the webcomic A Miracle of Science written by John Kilgannon and drawn by Mark Sachs (family-friendly, if not for little kiddies, but the math will fly over a lot of people's heads just like it did mine).
