Hello. My name is Summer, otherwise known as Califaction.

I like almost anything well-written, and enjoy my pathos with a spoonful of humor, black or otherwise. It doesn't have to be a lot, but even a sprinkle of irony does wonders for a story.

My favorite fandoms are Harry Potter and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Recently I've been interested in the Justice League/Batman/etc, Smallville, and Star Wars. I like seeing Snape and Harry interacting in pretty much any manner because they are so dang funny! Or Snape with anyone else or Harry with anyone else, provided they aren't completely OOC. Their humor is one of the reasons Spike and Xander are my favorite characters in BtVS.

My peeves are bad spelling and grammar in posted fics. People--'Loose' means your shoelaces are untied, 'lose' means you lost your Quidditch match, 'accept' means that you are allowed to join the party and 'except' means Harry Potter is often the exception of the rule. I also dislike Mary Sues. I came across my first one the other day, and was shocked and horrified. The gorgeous OC Ravenclaw girl with multi-colored eyes was almost as perfect as Gary Stu Harry was. To think that I'd thought Mary Sues were a fandom legend, created for the sole purpose of having something to mock. Shudder.

I used to live in England, which was cool, but soon I'll be starting my freshman year of college in Texas.

I beta for Snowy Leopardess, among others. She's my best friend! (Which doesn't mean I go easy on her, any more than I'd go easy on you guys if any of you wanted me to beta for you.)

I love constructive criticism. I think it's the best thing in the world. If you don't like something in my fics, or think something could be better, or particularly appreciate something, please tell me! Thank you! I'm always looking to improve.

A multi-chapter National Treasure origins fic. Mine will never be as good as Closed Break, by save changes to normal (which is amazing!), but I hope it will be an acceptable offering to the NT fandom when I post it. :)
