The Embracing Tree in the Story of the Night time.

Sometimes, this person is a wolf.

Sometimes, she is a snake. Sometimes, she is simply... a woman. At certain parts of the day, she may be a simple-minded child, while other times she turns into an independent adult. The woman-child is not forced to grow, but she does anyway, in her own little way.

In this way... she is a Tree.

She seldom sees the moon, but she loves her. The way mother moon looks over her children of the night. Because she is a child of darkness, born at the eve of christmas and living each night as her own. The days were devoted to painting the mask given to her at birth; but at night she puts down her brush and laughs, singing the songs that her heart taught her while dancing under the breathless stars. She knows no eyes are watching, no fingers are pointing. This is when dreamers are free to dream and lovers are free to love. And she throws her hands up and no one cares. And she loves it.

She holds on tight to spools of thread, which she fondly names, her "bonds." Each brightly colored thread would lead her to someone special to her, and so she shelfishly watches over the thin lines, worrying they may break at any given time. For bonds are precious as they are fragile, and a wrong move from her side may completely destroy the hard earned thread.

This person is a tree. But she wishes she could be water- adventurous and free. But the tree has roots, that she plants into the earth so that she may never again move-- and she grows in strength and size as time goes by. Many creatures admire her and seek shelter from her, the great tree that stands so strong and resilient even agaist the angriest storms.

But she becomes lonely, this tree. And she constantly watches as sister water flows freely between her roots, travelling to places no sunlight has reached and washing away things that do not take to her fancy. But the Tree is a tree and "The Tree who became Water" is surely not a good story to tell.

But she has fire inside her, dangerous for any wood creature. This fire is anger, and passion and maybe... love. Things that can hurt her-- fatally. And yet she nurses them and keeps them close to her breast, knowing one day, the very same flames will cause her to burn.

Perhaps she is a coward or perhaps, she is merely stupid. But this person believes that if she must be a tree, then she is a different kind of tree: not willow, not oak, not ash... (even though they are very good kind of trees). Perhaps a little more like the Camphor, with its spirit and the Baobab for everything it represents. She will be a different kind of tree and she promises the world that she will be called a name of her own. One day, she will be herself.

But you know, she is also an eagle. An otter. The beat of a heart. She can be many things and she embraces it gladly.

She is a dreamer. And a creativist. Not an artist... nor a creator. She prefers to call herself a creativist. Because she loves to be creative and create things in her mind. She likes to play pretend- the kind that she can get caught up into for days and days. It is great fun for playtime.

She is... many things.

This story is not really a story... but something more like a picture book without pictures. Is that a little strange? But yes, she is a strange creature- something that science will probably never understand. A little prince had reassured her, (way upin a little planet with a pretty red rose) that scientist's eyes were weak anyway. It is only with the eyes of the heart that you may understand the nature of... well, most anything in the world, really.
