Author has written 61 stories for Yu-Gi-Oh, Yu Yu Hakusho, Inuyasha, Digimon, Rurouni Kenshin, and Naruto. Is it me... 01 Kakashi is not a rapist. Neither are Neji, Sasuke, Ino, Hinata, Shikamaru (Shikamaru, of all people!), Kiba, Gai (/twitch.twitch/), Lee (/twitch.twitch.twitch/), Atemu, Kaiba, Mokuba (I've seen it and it maketh me FOAM), Otogi, Anzu, Zoro, Yusuke, Kuwabara (I'm gonna stab something, I swear), Heero, Wu Fei, Dorothy, Quatre, Kai, Tyson, Enrique, Ash (PUH-leez), Brock, Pikachu (Someone give me a gun NOW), Matt, Tai, Davis, Harry, Ron, Ginny, the Weasley twins, Snape... Okay, we'll stop here. The full list would be long enough to fill a book. 02 Atemu would never violate Yugi. Yugi's friends would not abandon him while it's going on. They would not encourage it. They wouldn't have the opportunity to because it would NOT happen in the first place, I feel I should stress. 03 How many animanga girls actually wear enough clothing to cover up abuse bruises? Slash marks? (Yeah, yeah, I'm guilty...) 04 Sasuke is not a closet fluff bunny. He will not melt into a puddle of Lurve Goo because Sakura/ Naruto/ Kakashi/ Hinata/ Ino/ Orochimaru/ Mary Sue dolled up and winked at him. (I'll spare you the list of other characters this applies to, but so help me if I see another Kaiba's-heart-is-melted-by-Honey Rivermoon's-sweet-lovin' fic...) 05 Iruka is a man. A ninja. A chuunin. A freaking teacher. Seriously, people. 06 Don't even get me started on Rock Lee and Gai character-rape. Don't... They are not ever-happy morons, doggone it! They have depth! But y'know what? That doesn't mean they talk like something that was spit up out of Shakespeare. Mixing these traits? Especially annoying. 07 Not liking a character does not mean that their peers harbor wishes to burn them at the stake. Anzu's friends are her FRIENDS. Yusuke is Kuwabara's FRIEND. Et cetera, et cetera... 08 Chouji is a perfectly fine character. He doesn't need to be skinny (which would all but ensure his death) to have a love life. You may as well just say "Ino/ Sakura/ Temari/ whoever only fell into Chouji's arms after he turned hot, ensuring a shallow relationship that will endure until a prettier face comes along." Before you write your speshul sparkly makeover fic, actually think about what you're writing, eh? 09 Kishimoto-sensei did not include Sakura's "break-up" with Ino to portray her as TehUber!Btch (or Ino as TehUber!Victim), but to show her extent of her will to be independent. Her original snarkiness towards Naruto is not excuse for her being made TehPerpetualUltimateUber!Btch. Is all the character development totally lost on you? And on the flipside, Sakura is not a saint, and doesn't have to be a saint to be worth her weight in spit. Also, I!Sakura and II!Sakura? Not different characters. 10 Tenten is not an Anti-Girl. She wears pink (which Sakura DOESN'T, thank you). She wears lipstick. She wears high heels. She dedicates whole thought bubbles to one-line assessments of male aesthetics. Similarly, do you SEE the way Temari dresses? I wouldn't call that a rejection of one's femininity myself. It is okay to write strong girls as girls. I promise. 11 Anzu... I don't even know where to start, really. But she cares about her friends, okay? Just not to the point of being a babbling moron about it and trying to get into every pair of pants that happens her way. 12 Kuwabara is NOT a pervert, jerk, eternal moron, weakling, woman-hater, woman-beater or anybody's btch. Thank YOU. 13 Relena I do not have time to even THINK of a full list for. I will say that it is highly unlikely that the entire cast is inflicted with your irrational hatred for her. No, I'm serious, there are characters that-- you might want to sit down for this-- genuinely like her. 14 Keiko is not a cheater. She is not a slut. She is not TehUber!Btch. She is most certainly not the only person to scold Yusuke for stepping out of line. Getting smacked verses being whacked up-side the head with an oar? Let's all think hard now... 15 NO female character is a slut or a whore just because a) she is associated with a group of guys, b) she has a crush on/ relationship with a guy or even-- gasp!-- more than one guy and/ or c) she wears short shorts/ skirts (it's called fanservice; get over it). Yes, I am talking about Anzu, Sakura, Ino, Hinata (People, PLEASE), Keiko, Relena, Hilary and Nami (and probably many more if I thought about it long enough). And really, what is up with demonizing sexual women anyway? As long as she isn't doing anything to hurt herself or someone else, who cares? 16 Yukina and Hinata, to name a couple good examples, do not connive. They don't plot. They don't seduce or deceive. They are not closet TehUber!Btches. If you can look at that feel right, you don't know who you're writing about. 17 Rape is not love. Period. 18 Just because Hinata was watching Naruto in the flashback doesn't mean she was stalking him. She sort of has a tendency to hide behind things when it comes to him, in case you missed that. 19 Liking one character is no excuse for bashing another. It is actually perfectly okay, contrary to amazingly popular belief, to like Sakura AND Hinata AND Ino; Kikyo AND Kagome; Kuwabara AND Hiei. Frankly, bashing Character A to glorify Character B is a plan doomed from the beginning. I mean, if Character B can only be made to look good through the demonization and belittlement of other characters, what does that say to you? 20 Don't start on me about how "it's fanFICTION" because, really, it isn't. It's FANfiction. Say it out loud and see if I'm wrong. Oh, there's more. MUCH more. I just don't feel like getting into it right now. At a later date, perhaps.
