Author has written 34 stories for Lord of the Rings. I am 29, live in Indonesia and a certified bookworm. I listen to tenors and sopranos, melt into an unbearably shrill puddle of silliness at the sight of cats and kittens, think chocolate is a panacea and stop mid-stride to sniff at flowers and watch butterflies. I don't drink, don't smoke and don't think I am good enough at writing but doggedly do so anyway. I am impractical, impulsive and in love with the works of JRR Tolkien, especially with one hobbit, a pretty stodgy, yet eccentric hobbit who could think of no other way to stop his young cousin from babbling other than leaping on to the table and started to sing a jolly, silly song about an inn and the Man-on-The-Moon. A hobbit who avoided a certain mean farmer for thirty years because he was afraid of his dogs. A hobbit who bore the Ring of Power and let himself be gutted from within so others would be spared. A hobbit who was mortally afraid but decided to go anyway to do the task he brought upon himself. A hobbit who--starvation, exhaustion and despair notwithstanding--walked, stumbled, crawled all the way to Orodruin, only to come home to a land where people failed to appreciate what he had done. A hobbit who in the end must leave. Everyone--even Smeagol--is a hero in The Lord of The Rings, but the only blood my hero spilled was his own. -- | |||||||||
