Author has written 3 stories for Dark Shadows. My name is Mina and I have a love for the classics in horror and suspense. As a child I traded in Saturday morning cartoons for Saturday morning classics in scary movies. My father and I would watch all the greats; Bela Lugosi, Vincent Price, Lon Chaney, Hitchcock and Abbott and Costello to name a few. In the evenings I would sneak a peak at Twilight Zone and then have bizarre dreams of Captain Kirk looking out the window of an airplane. (for twilight zone fans you know what I mean) I love the art of the older horror flicks, so much more interesting than the "gorrer" today. I have collected over 100 of the old movies from the 30's through the 50's. There is a beautiful subtlety in which the older movies kept the audience in suspense and it requires far more creativity to achieve. It wasn't until years later that I discovered Dark shadows. I started watching when I heard about the movie coming out. I began to watch the original series on Netflix and I was hooked. Moreover... I was hooked on the notion of Willie Loomis. Such a tragic story that never really was explored on the show. I also have mad respect for Jonathan Frid and he is one of my favs as well. Perhaps the next series of stories (if I continue to write) will focus on him. The stories I have written so far have focused on Willie and the possibilities of his character. They stray far from the original story line, but the spirit of Willie is respected. I aspire to write my own originals and one day I will, but until then thank you for reading and I truly hope you enjoy. Thank You! | |||||||
