I'm an inveterate lurker, a retired fic writer, and a connoisseur of empirical soup.

These days I read very little fic, and most of that in French, pour pratiquer ma maîtrise de la langue. That said, my sincerest blessings go upon you if you be of the lucky elect who subscribe to that most charmingly witty, heatedly sparring, subtley nuanced, elegant, overwought, and totally unrealistic of ships, DMHG.

I'm also leaving my really emo author departure message up because I'm too lazy to rephrase it. Love ya'll. :)

PS. Haven fans, sorry about the long-promised, still-absent summary. Truth be told, I kind of forgot the details of what was supposed to happen toward the end. Maybe someday, if the notes turn up again!

2/16/06 - D-Day

I absolutely hate to say this, but I am leaving fanfiction.

...It had to happen someday. For a variety of personal reasons, I can no longer be part of this community, and I think I owe you all at least a proper goodbye. So, to everyone who has ever read and enjoyed my stories, or whose stories I have read myself - thank you for your kind words and thoughtful comments; it's meant a lot to me and I am sad to leave you all. You're a wonderful group of people, and I never cease to be amazed by the staggering talent I find here.

I feel terrible about leaving HAVEN unfinished. But yes, I am sure about this decision. No number of reviews (or threats, or anything else like that!) will change my mind. Sometime after this post I'll put up a concluding chapter that basically sums up what happens, all the way through to the end. I am also considering letting someone "adopt" it to finish the story, based on the plot specs I give them. Again, readers, I am very sorry...

But in the end, you know, it's only a story.
It's not life, or death, or love, or anything on that scale. It's writing about life, death, love.
It's something that's fun. And sometimes we have to give up bits of these things in order to stay, you know, sane and happy. :)

I'm leaving my story up, so people can keep reading the oneshots if they want to and so on. The same goes for HAVEN. I'll also post myVDay 06 fic exchange stories here. I hope you continue to enjoy them.
