Words of Encouragement

The LORD is my Light and my Salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the Strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

Through a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

- Psalms 27: 1-3 Holy Bible King James 1611 Version.

A Little Bit About Me

My pseudonym is writergirl64, as you can see. But I prefer to be called Krystal. The reason? Well, I've always loved the name and I thought it sounded nice. I am eligible for the Hunger Games - the only clue I am giving you about my age. I am from Ireland as you can see from that lovely little tricolour flag at the top of the profile, but I won't tell you the county or even the province. Hmm, one more thing - just because I'm Irish, I do not have a bad drinking problem and neither does any other Irish person I know. Just, you know, in case some people were confused.

I've got a funny, random sense of humour and I'm a pretty nice person but if you really push my buttons, I'll go kabust. So don't try do get me really angry. I'll argue calmly with you for a while but if you're pushing it, there's two possible outcomes. The first one is that I'll scream through the Internet at you and completely lose my sense of reason. The second is that I simply won't reply any more, as it's wasting my time. The second one is more likely, as I'm a reasonable person and I care about people's feelings.

I love to read and write. I also love animals, especially dogs, snakes and horses. My favourite type of dog is a greyhound and my favourite type of snake is a serpent. I don't have a particular favourite type of horse though. I enjoy running but I'm not very good at it. I'm intelligent and academic (basically, a nerd), love school but hate homework.

I'm a Catholic Christian and I'm very religious. I will not force my beliefs on anyone and I won't slander anyone's religion. I'm up for a religious debate, as long as we don't end up slagging off each other's religions.

While I'm on this website, I set goals for myself. My current goal is to publish ten fan fictions and to help out at least one author through beta-reading. My ultimate goal is to help make a difference to FanFiction and to complete over one hundred fan fictions. If I leave someday after having made a difference for the better to this website, I'll always treasure that in my heart.

I am on FictionPress, where I write under the pseudonym Krystal Oceana. Currently, I haven't written much, but I have plenty of story ideas in my head that are developing. Please feel free to check me out.

I love to write both original fiction and fan fiction, but personally I prefer original fiction. The reason? I sometimes feel limited while writing fan fiction, but when I take matters into my own hands, I love to create a whole new world. My characters are born and they feel real to me. I will not usually write home/school stories as I feel a little limited while writing them, but I'm always up for giving anything a try. I love fantasy and science fiction, due to being both a daydreamer and a science nerd. When you combine them (as I tend to do) you get science fantasy. Warning: Reading my science fantasy may confuse you beyond confusion.

However, I also have a fondness for fan fiction. The reason? Sometimes, there are things I didn't like about my fandom. Some things that I wish had gone differently. Or maybe there's something that I love and I want to write about it. Or maybe I'm fascinated by a character (mostly a villain) and I wish to study xir. Whatever the reason, I like to write fan fiction. And I hope you like reading my fan fiction.

When writing, I put heart and soul into my work. I used to not be so passionate about fan fiction, but now I'm really beginning to work on it. I know I'll never be perfect, which is a good thing because it means I can continually strive to reach my full potential and still have more work to complete. I love working hard at what I love. Writing is my absolute passion and I want to excel at it, to be the best I can be. Which is why I'm always up for constructive criticsm.

I am a constructive critic. And proud of it. I will read your story (probably a million times because I'm terrible at finding errors the first time round) and then I will offer ways to fix it.

I can be a little blunt, but I try not to be too unfeeling. But in all honesty - remember that you are posting on a public website, so if you cannot take criticsm without wailing that you don't need it and that I'm a flamer, I honestly am not sure why you are here. If I critique your story and you immediately come to me saying, "u flamd my story dats not fair" I'll most likely ignore it. However, if you come to me asking could we work on your story, I'll most likely happily accept. writergirl64 always loves helping people with writing!

If your story violates the rules, I'll tell you what rule it breaks and how to fix it. I tend to be a little bit impersonal in my letting-you-know-that-your-story-is-in-violation reviews, so don't be too offended. It's nothing personal. Please feel free to shoot me a PM if you're confused in any ways by my reviews.

I'm also a beta reader. Check out my beta profile - the link is at the top of my profile. If you give me a request and I accept, here's how we usually do things. Just so you know. But you can change the method a little to suit yourself if you wish.

  • If it's a new story, get the first chapter to me and I'll proofread it. When we come to an agreement about the final draft, publish it.
  • If it's a story that you have already published some of, I'll check the early chapters and we can work on them. When we're done all the completed chapters, we can continue as normal.
  • I usually do this through DocX, but I'll be happy to do it through PM if you want to. I'll warn you that it's harder to do it through PM since you can't do italics through it.
  • You can PM me about my critique style if you wish, but I won't change it. Still, I'm always up for a debate, as aforementioned.

  • Things that Really Annoy Me

  • People who deliberately push my buttons just to see if I'll blow a fuse. Please don't try to wind me up because it won't go down well. I'll either go crazy and grant your wish or simply drive you to the point of stopping the conversation by arguing in a completely calm manner.
  • People who complain in an immature fashion to me for reminding them that their fan fiction is in violation. This is something that has come into my life recently and it's not a way to get on my good side.
  • People who make silly excuses for breaking the rules, such as, "But everyone else is doing it" or "Rules are made to be broken." If you're going to argue with me for that, please come up with more mature arguments. I either won't answer or try to prove my point. Oh - and with the "rules are made to be broken" one, were the rules set by your school principal made to be broken? Were the rules set by your parents made to be broken? I doubt it.
  • People who break the rules and don't bother to fix the violation when I warn them. Do you think I reminded you because I had nothing better to do? I reminded you so your story wouldn't get taken down.
  • People who tell me to go away when I tell them that their fan fiction is in violation. Please, please, please don't come to me with that. I've had it before, and I'll just roll my eyes and tell you if you want your story to be deleted, that's fine with me, but since you most likely don't, fix the violation.
  • People who have the "You shut up. I can do what I like" additude. We all love that attitude, don't we, guys? Not!
  • People who say, "I don't like the rules, so I'll complain to you." I didn't make the Rules and Guidelines, I just choose to enforce them.
  • People who come to me for critiquing their friend's/their story and yell, "OMG FLAMER/CYBER-BULLY/TROLL ALERT!" If I was any of those things, I wouldn't be offering advice on how to fix the story, I'd just point out all the flaws and tell them to crawl into a hole and die. Do I do that? Could have sworn that I didn't.
  • Ultimate praise reviews. I know you're trying to be kind, but it's not going to help me or anyone else. An ultimate praise review is a review that's filled with nothing but praise. No suggestions for improvement, no constructive critiscm. Some of them barely prove you read the story at all.
  • Flamers. These people drive me insane. If you are a nice, patient person who can put up with flamers, I applaud you.
  • Cyber-bullies/Trolls. People who take pleasure in lowering people's self-esteem, making them self-harm and telling them to commit suicide (maybe even making them do just that) instantly go in my bad books.
  • Plagiarists. What I call the lowest of the lowest of the low. There is no good in stealing someone's story and pretending that you wrote it. What's worse is that some plagiarists on this website claim that the original story writer stole their story. That's a little ridiculous. One has only to check the "published" dates of both stories and find out that the plagiarist is a liar.
  • Mary Sues/Gary Stus. Fiction/fan fiction poision. If I see a character that is abused by xir parents but somehow manages to stay cute and beautiful, is superpowered and has mood-changing eyes, I'll most likely vomit. Please do not make your character a Mary Sue/Gary Stu. Feel free to take the Universal Mary Sue Limtus Test with all of your original characters.
  • Swearing in every sentence in a story.First of all, it looks as if your vocabulary is too poor to come up with anything else to write. There are plenty of more mature and eloquent ways of expressing your feelings. Secondly, if you use them too much, they lose their effect. If you don't swear at all and then maybe sneak in a curse word maybe once in the book, it has a huge effect on your readers. The less you use them, the stronger they become.
  • No paragraphs. It makes the story look messy. And I hate messiness.
  • Terrible grammar/punctuation/spelling. Being a huge grammar Nazi, I find this severly irritating. If English isn't your first language and you genuinely try, I understand. But if you have perfect English and make no effort whatsoever, that's what makes me mad.
  • Anonymous flames under another author's pseudonym in the intentions of getting the author in question into trouble. Why would an author log out and review under the same name? That's just silly. It is usually caused when there are two forums that have alternate opinions on a certain topic. The anonymous person wants to create war between the two of them and watch, so they flame under the psuedonym of one of the authors on the opposing forum. That forum will come to the other one in anger even though they didn't do anything and hence, FanFiction War I will begin while the anonymous reviewer sits back with popcorn and laughs, sharing it on Facebook and Twitter.
  • People who send me mean PMs and then block me.I won't even be able to reply, silly! How are you going to get a reaction out of me? This amazes me.
  • Writing about insensitive subjects such as rape. If there's one thing that drives me mad, it's that. It's insensitive and blunt. All the readers say it's so cute and they should be disgusted. It drives me insane.
  • All capitals in a word to accent your point. Italics and exclamation marks were invented for a reason, you know! Use them!
  • Emoticons in a story. Please, don't use them. Use adjectives. Also, don't use too much emoticons in reviews or PMs. My Emoticons Golden Rule is: "You have the right to use emoticons. Don't go crazy with that perk."
  • Ridiculous copy-and-paste things. That's not to say I dislike copy-and-paste things, though sometimes I feel it clutters my profile (just a personal opinion). But the thing that annoys me is when there are stupid ones that give you death threats, for instance, "If you don't copy and paste this into your profile you will be tortured to death." That's worse than "Seven days" from The Ring! When I see them, I tend to raise my eyebrows and move on with the rest of the person's profile.

  • Forum Activity

I am the founder of Pen to Paper and a member of the Constructive Criticism Guild, where I'm also an Apprentice Concritter. Both are constructive criticism/rule-enforcing groups. If you have a problem with any reviews I gave you, feel free to complain there. Just please check the Things that Really Annoy Me section on this profile before you do. Which I'm pretty sure you already did because it's above this.

I support Critics United as a non-member. I will not get myself involved in any forum war against constructive critic groups. I would like to inform everyone that I am no longer a member of the Eliminator forum.

    My Stories

You may be wondering why I haven't updated some of my stories in a while. The thing is, I got so busy that I couldn't continue all of them. So I temporarily put them on hiatus. Don't worry, when things calm down for me, I'll start them up again, one by one. Here are my stories anyway:
