TEN YEARS, YOU GUYS. That's nearly half my life reading fanfiction and shipping characters. I don't know if I should be proud or mortified. lol. This stuff, fanfiction, is literally what dreams are made of. This is what you think about at night after you've finished a book and are craving for more. This is the hope you cling to when the ending leaves you none. This is what keeps you going when real life is so dull or disappointing that you can't take it anymore. After ten years, I feel like I have the authority to say that fanfiction deserves respect. These stories aren't just teeny-boppers writing for kicks or wannabe authors settling for less. These stories are the book or show or movie or comic living and breathing and giving life to the reader in the best way any author can hope for. These stories are hope and reconciliation and dreams.
