Dear Readers:

Look, it’s me—Tailzy, back from the dead. I’ve been enjoying my stay, but it’s about time I explained myself.

This afternoon I checked my alternate e-mail on impulse and found sixty-seven messages, some dating as far back as last January. It was all I could do to stare openmouthed at the computer screen. Please forgive me for my impertinence, but the first question that came to my mind was “Where were all these people when I was actually writing this stuff?”

That’s right, you’ve heard it correctly. Was writing. As in, I don’t write Inuyasha fanfiction anymore. My fascination with the series fizzled out sometime last year, perhaps around March. Indolence really is a writer’s only enemy. I let them sit too long, and their plots dribbled out of my ears.

Believe me, my friends, this was never my intention.

People have asked time and again, “How could you end the story that way?” I’ve gotten everything from irritation (“What a horrible conclusion!”) to bewilderment (“Whaaaat?”). Let me go ahead and clear it up: unless it is stated in the last post that that post is the end, then the story isn’t finished. It’s one of those sad, dejected creatures that I just never finished.

(Perhaps, in all its evolving, ff.net came up with that feature that labels stories as “complete” after a certain amount of time—I never attached that label.)

Thousands of apologies to you all… You’ve all been so kind, and you deserve to see the end of these stories. I’m exploring the possibility of commissioning a few trusted writers to ‘adopt’ them, so we’ll see where that goes. Mayhap they’ll find a new home (and an author that can give them the conclusions they’ve earned).
