Delicacy fanart-http://celticbard76.livejournal.com/22925.html Hello to all who visit my profile! Allow me to properly introduce myself. I am GreenWood Elf, a nineteen year old young woman who loves to read and write fanfiction. I currently have thirty-two stories posted, some complete, some near completion and some that are on hold. I find that fanfiction is a wonderful way for a writer to exercise his or her brain and try new styles or techniques. So obliviously I write fanfiction just for fun and try not to take it at all seriously. I write whatever I feel inspired to at the time. Therefore, I may post some stories and at a later date remove them as I experiment with different plots and genres. Although I try to update some of my stories regularly, my life has a tendency to get hectic without warning so some stories might not get updated for awhile and some might never be completed. I apologize for any inconvenience or upset this may cause a reader. But, as stated above, fanfiction is a simple hobby of mine and due to the pressures of life, sometimes hobbies slip to the side. Now of course, fanfiction isn’t my only hobby. I also write fiction. But other than writing I love history, music, and reading. History: My favorite period in history would have to be the American Revolutionary War. I have read dozens of books on the subject for the past five years, more specifically the treason of Benedict Arnold. Just this past year I have taken an interest in medieval history. I find myself fascinated with the Knights Templar and I am reading all I can on them. I am currently attending college full time and working my way towards a degree in history. I hope to someday specialize in 18th century English history, as the Georgian era has captured both my interest and imagination. Music: Music is also very important to me even though I am not musically talented myself. I don’t care much for popular music. I listen mainly to Celtic, medieval and Rennaisance music. My favorite artists being Loreena McKennitt, Sharon Knight, Blackmore’s Night, Wendy Rule, Mediaeval Baebes, Dead Can Dance, Faith and the Muse, Solas, Altan, Steeleye Span, Eliza Carthy, Pentangle, Fairport Convention, Emilie Autumn and many others. Reading: Reading is what fueled my passion for writing as a young child and I cannot name the countless books that have inspired me over the years. But there are some books that have left such wonderful impressions on me that I will them cherish forever. They are; Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer, The Nibelungenlied and Black Beauty by Anna Sewell. My favorite period would have to be the Romantic Period and I try to fashion my writing after it. I also love anything written by Keats of Poe. Misc. Interests: I have many other interests other than those listed above but instead of rambling on about all of them I will list but a few. Since the age of five I have been riding horses and I have owned three ponies throughout the span of my life. I was trained in English hunter/jumper then took a year off to try dressage and now I am taking a break from riding until I can find a good stable and instructor. I love everything and anything Celtic, from the myths, to the music, to the carvings on the ancient tombs. I visited Ireland two summers ago and it is my dream to live there full time someday. I am also an animal lover. Besides my almost ancient turtle (he's nearing fourteen) I have a two year old rough collie named Maggie. She looks just like Lassie (not that I’m bragging!) and I spoil her rotten. Unfortunately it is she who takes up most of my time and takes me away from writing so if I’m late with an update blame her. I would like to thank all those who have read my stories and left kind reviews and helpful criticism. Thank you for your encouragement. Well, that’s pretty much all I can tell you about myself. Thanks for visiting! | |||||||||||
